Sunset Retreat was wonderful - the house was great, the view was incredible and Patrick and Anna were great hosts - they answered questions quickly and we absolutely loved the experience.
Perfect stay during a chilly November visit to see family. Great location and very comfortable clean and updated accommodations. Would stay again when in the area!!
We had a fabulous time here! It was quiet and cozy, and had everything we needed for our stay and more. The view was fantastic to wake up to everyday, and we very much enjoyed the outdoor space. Had a fun afternoon on the pedal boat. The house was very clean. Thank you for an incredible stay!
Place was fantastic. Everything we could have needed was there. Check in was super easy and quick. Use of the garage was nice to store extra things we brought. Enjoyed playing board games each night with the fam. Would book again!
Just had a fantastic stay. Cabin is perfect! Location to lake and dock access can’t be beat. We used the provided canoe to paddle over to Willy’s on The Lake for some food and brew.
Beautiful property with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Easy check in and great response time from hosts. Weather was still a little chilly during our stay to enjoy anything water related however, the area looks very inviting and well kept.
Even though the weather wasn’t the best, we had a great time. The location was perfect & there was something to do for everyone. Patrick & Anna were very communicative providing excellent suggestions for local things to do & places to visit. We would definitely stay again!!
We had a fantastic time. We are two quilting ladies, and the cabin was very spacious with open concept which made it easy for us to set up our quilting stations. Everything was clean and worked well. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cabin.
A beautiful and relaxing retreat. The boats and campfire added some lakeside fun too. The property is well kept and welcoming. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
We had a wonderful stay! The view of the lake is gorgeous, house is comfortable and gorgeous, beds are comfortable, and the hosts were great at communicating with us. The different spaces to relax in the house was really nice. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake more!
We appreciated the restaurant recommendations, Willys on the Water was our favorite!
Property was well maintained and updated. Hosts responded quickly to any questions I had. Property manager was very friendly and helpful during our stay
The lake was clear and had a nice sandy beach for our kids to play on, I would definitely stay here again!
Patrick and Anna were the perfect host/hostess for a weekend to celebrate a friend! The weekend was seamless and everything was perfect! Location and the house was amazing! I will definetly try to return and enjoy the summer fun at this place!
Anna and Patrick’s home is lovely! The photos do not do it justice. It is simple, elegant and well built. The floor plan lends itself to feeling open and spacious. The grounds are well kept and the lake is super accessible! We would stay there again In a heartbeat!
Great place to sneak away to during the holidays! Giant TV and comfy couch to watch the holiday classics and a giant dining room table to do puzzles and play board games! I had a little bit of a hiccup with the lock when I arrived since it was new, but I received immediate responses so it wasn't an issue. Thinking about bringing the family during the summer next year!
It was amazing 😁 The house is beautiful the view is beautiful it was very clean and was exactly how the pictures showed! We will definitely be going back❤️ Thank you
I would absolutely recommend Sunset Retreat for your family getaway. I stayed at the house with my husband, children and mom and we all had a wonderful time. The house was clean and beautiful. So many fun activities for my kids to do. They swam all day and had fires in the mornings and evenings. It was wonderful! We all feel so refreshed after our weekend trip to Big Lake!
The property is awesome and the communication with the owner was easy. There was an electronic glitch with the entry lock, but all was addressed as the owner called right after seeing the message and made sure there was a plan B if the glitch could not be fixed. Fortunately it was and we had a great girls weekend! Just a wonderful location. The cabin is clean and comfortable. There are restaurants and activities near by. Just an overall great trip!
We had a relaxing and enjoyable time. My husband and I were able to relax and watch the beautiful lake and boaters. The restaurants in town are delicious. We ventured out to within a max of 45 minutes to Albertville, Clearwater and St. Cloud for some great finds shopping and then came back to the quiet of the Lake each night.
The house had everything we needed and the communication could not have been better. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Sunset Retreat is the perfect getaway spot - close to the Twin Cities
We had an amazing stay at Sunset Retreat in Big Lake, MN. This beautiful home is located right on the lake, has so much useable/comfortable common space (dining room, living room and great patio) all with amazing lake views. We were only 45 miles from home AND were able to have a great getaway!
We had everything we needed from the kitchen to the patio to the water. And the hosts, Patrick and Anna, were perfect - very friendly, provided awesome communication while also ensuring we also had our privacy (so we could enjoy our time together as a family). We even got to see both a bald eagle and a loon right up close during our stay!
This lakeside spot is just what I wanted, and will probably be what you want to! The house is all yours, REALLY all yours and not "all yours but also the owner lives upstairs and grandma lives in the basement". It was truly private! The backyard is huge and the lake access is amazing. My spouse and I sat by the lake for hours and it was the first time I've felt relaxation in years ;) It's beautiful!
The house itself has lovely modern interiors, but is very comfortable. Big couches, the sleep number bed is a treat. Check in was easy, communication was easy, highly recommended!
