  • Welcome to a place steeped in history.

    This bright, 80-square-meter house is more than just a place to stay. It’s located in the historic Chaprais area of Besançon, in a private courtyard. It was here that Gérard Mantion founded the Maty company in 1951 at the age of 24. He started out as a watchmaker before Maty became a well-known jewellery store in the region.

    Imagine yourself in the morning, sipping your coffee in what was once a local watchmaker’s workshop, with natural light flooding every room. This house was completely renovated in 2024, blending the spirit of the past with modern comfort.

    **Why do our guests trust us?**

    **The exceptional location**: a 5-minute walk from the Viotte train station. You get off the train, walk a few minutes, and you’re home. The tram takes you to city centre in just a few minutes.

    🌿 **Peace and quiet**: Set in a private courtyard, the house offers a haven of peace in the heart of the city. You’ll sleep peacefully, far from the noise.

    ⚡ **Modern Comfort**: Completely renovated in 2024 with a heat pump and full insulation. You’ll sleep peacefully, summer and winter alike

    🛏️ **The perfect space**: 2 bedrooms (1 queen bed + 2 single beds) + 1 EMMA sofa bed in the living room. Perfect for 4 to 6 people. Families love the travel cot, high chair, and changing table, which we provide upon request.

    🍳 **The modern kitchen**: A fully equipped, modern kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, and all the utensils you need to prepare your meals.

    🚗 **Convenience**: 2 private parking spaces (a luxury in Besançon!), high-speed Wi-Fi, and a TV with Netflix. Everything is designed to make you feel right at home.

    **Authenticity**: This house has a soul. The walls tell the local storey, but with all the comforts of today.

    ⏰ **Check-in at 4 p.m. / Check-out at 10 a.m.** (we’re flexible to accommodate your needs, for an additional fee)

    🏰 **Besançon at your feet**: The UNESCO-listed Citadel, the Museum of Time, the Promenade Micaud... Everything is within walking distance from our place.
