Let me start off by saying I am well traveled. It’s really perplexing to me this hotel has 4 stars. Very dated decor, mediocre service, tub layout- I almost slipped and fell. I booked this hotel based on the reviews and the gym amenity. My trip started out on a bad note due to delayed flights and I arrived one day later than planned. When I arrived I was told that the reservation had been marked a “no show”, though I had messaged the day prior through the Expedia messaging service. I was warned I should’ve called directly, nevertheless they were able to restore the reservation. I was out quite a bit of money for the first night and I asked if there’s anything they could do, I was advised I had to contact Expedia for anything to be done. It was such a carefree, “sucks for you” attitude. I checked in and decided to go to my room since I was very tired, only to find out there’s no water or any mini bar in the room. You must go downstairs to purchase it, again not pleasant after a long trip. On Saturday night when I returned I asked for a late check out and was told promptly no, they had accommodated too many requests for late check outs, again “sucks for you” attitude. This request is normally honored by everyone I’ve asked, and I thought it would have given my difficulty in getting to Berlin. I will visit Berlin often, and desperately wanted to like this place so I could be comfortable with rebooking again. I will not consider this hotel in the future at all.
