We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. "Where to start, it was cheaper than most places in Newcastle but still wasn't worth what we paid. No air-conditioning, the kitchen drain smelled terrible, the toilet leaked, there were toenails in the bathroom, originally put in a two bedded room when there was 3 of us, very hot stuffy room, unable to open window properly as there was a chain lock preventing us. Beds were clean and fairly comfy."

"Room and hotel dated but clean. Pillows (one each) extremely hard and uncomfortable. Mattress hard but ok. Didn't get round to using pool or spa facilities, which do cost extra. Staff friendly and helpful. Booked room only so can't comment on breakfast, but evening meal was very tasty and good portions. Staff very knowledgeable about allergens. Overall cheap, cheerful and would stay again."
