DO NOT GO THERE! A bunch of thieves and lieres. Booked this place on a promotion as one of the cheapest place in Hamra. What a surprise it was when at the reception I had to pay 33% MORE! They calculate USD into LL with their own exam he rate = 2000LL per $... where official rate = 1500LL per $. That gives us a 33$ rip off comparing to what you booked online. Confirmed that with Lebanese police and this is illegal practice! Don’t get be fooled! On top of that when I tried to explain that the lady on the reception became rude to me, making some inappropriate comments. Complete lack of customer service. I met her couple of days later on the street accidentally. We had a short discussion where she confirmed this is the way how they work and she have to rip off people! Apart from that very ugly place - old, not refurbished, smelly. Just avoid it. With the price they rip you off you can find in Hamra clean and new hotels with a pool and restaurants. AVOID IT!

The reception is very nice. Also the staff were amazing and speak good English. The hotel is on adjacent street to Hamra Street so right in the middle of all the cafes and restaurants. The room was large with a balcony.
The bathroom however was very small. The decor is outdated. The bed linen was dirty. Also the breakfast was not good.
I asked the hotel in a quiet room in advance. The hotel owner never replies to my inquiry and request. When I arrived at the hotel, my room was facing the busy streets, and restaurant noise were around every night, which disturbed me a lot. They had never changed my room, because they claimed that the prices did not fi.and did not take our request seriously/
It was the worst hotel ever i have been. The charged me 2 times for the bad room. The take from me cash when I arrived and after a day they take from my bank account.
VERY ANNOYED

Great location and very walkable.
Downfalls is that there is no WiFi, the bathroom is incredibly small and not ser up well. I also found a safety pin in my bed when i went to go to sleep. Yikes!
First of all the lady on the desk was rude to me and good with other visitor , reached the floor where my room is at and it smelled horrible . The room also smells musty and disgusting " it was really horrible" the smell was from the bed sheets the carpet and the curtains . carpet was wet and stayed wet till next day , toilet was small and very old , the ac was dripping water like crazy.
The hotel is in the middle of Hamra, close to many restaurants and shopping. The breakfast is simple and the hotel charges extra for credit card payments. It was all clean and quiet in the hotel.

Dishonest Staff Tried to Jack up the room price
Unfortunately, I can not recommend. To my great suprirse the morning staff on Day One tried to play me. She told me that the hotel was booked solid and my room price (I had only booked one night on hotels.com) had to be doubled. She told me the Embassy was the cheapest hotel in the Hamra area. I went looking and found two cheaper hotels in under 45 minutes. When I returned and prepared to leave, the price suddenly went back down. Later in the day I saw a new guest at front desk--so much for a booked hotel! Very disappointing when the staff tries to trick you and gives false information. I rarely give negative reviews, but this is one. Go elsewhere. The choices in Hamra are wide and varied. You don't need this kind of disrespectful, manipulative 'service'.
The check in was with a very good women and very respectful but when we was checking out there was a girl not smiling and she was rude and was trying to dont let us tale our paid breakfast but we told her we bought breakfast she told us oh yeah you right
But the hote in general is good confortable room and good building and perfect place very near to night life of beirut
No wifi
We we were 4 , but given just one room key !
Looks like street noise is normal
Bought 5 hours wifi for $10 and still did not work in our room.
The receptionist said they canceled 24 hours and weekly wifi purchase cards !!.
Hotel was in a very good location
Close to the down town
Close to the sea side
I was very dissapointed in this hotel - they advertised free wifi in lobby but when we got there there wasnt any, it was all to be paid for.
The water in the shower and sink was salty and disgusting.
the bedding was very uncomfortable.
I was also charged a surcharged for completing my payment wish i was not Made aware of at time of booking though the hotels.com site, incredibly angry at that too.

Stayed for 1 night solo and it's pretty good location... Not to mention the value for your money!
It was horrible staying in that hotel. You cannot take a shower, because of the salt water. No water softner. If you rinse your mouth with water, just like rinsing with salt water. The receptionist asked me extra money to bring a guest to my room for visiting me. The guest can only stay in the lobby. No Wi-Fi. I will not recoomend anybody to go to that hotel unless if you have no choice at all.
The hotel is enough for sleeping only and was to close to the bars and Main Street other than that the hotel is ugly and very old one no safe inside room بدائي

close to night city
my stay was too short but the location is in the heart of the city 10 minutes from the airport
OK so don't freak out when you check in after 4 pm and are greeted by a weird blonde lady who has been working there for eternity. In all honesty she is kind and greeting although not very helpful.
Anyway we check into out room and wow what a space... Almost closterphobic! On the Expedia page it is made to look like there is a tub in each room where in fact the bathroom we had was barely 1x1m with a shower toilet seat and washing basin all fitting somehow there. They said that no rooms with a king bed had a bathtub. The bed was at best half a queen size. My wife nearly flips out
We changed rooms to the one with a tub... These come with single beds that they pull together for couples... Not bad although the mattresses are a bit hard.
The plumbing didn't work properly in either because aside of the salty water due to their lack of municipality water, they have wells that are heavily chlorinated, the pipes were bursting or flooding and nearly all visible piping was rusty or green.
I do not recommend this hotel unless it's purely to get around Hamra street on a low budget... Not worth paying more than 50$ a night. Especially with a next door video poker parlour.
