"Staying at this hotel was an incredible and unique experience! The way the old prison has been transformed into a modern hotel is absolutely brilliant. The historic atmosphere is preserved perfectly, and the clean rooms are very comfortable. The staff is clearly understaffed and overwhelmed with duties, but they work incredibly hard and do their absolute best to keep the atmosphere and everything else perfect. Both the breakfast and parking options were excellent. Highly recommended!"

"This is a great location for Bergen and the low-priced self parking is a huge benefit in an area with little parking options. The staff is also especially friendly. The room is clean and adequate but can be noisy and stuffy on warmer days. A small fan is provided but you likely need to have the window open which can add to the noise and temperature regulation issue through the night. There were some minor maintenance issues in the bathroom (slow drain in shower, toilet lever needed some adjustments intermittently or it would stop working, and the hand soap dispenser was not functioning.). A mini fridge would be a nice addition to the room (it looks like it probably had one in the past). The internet was quite good and reliable and the work desk very appreciated. It could use some updates to the outlets at either the bed or desk to accommodate USB demands. The bed, pillows, sheets, and towels were extremely clean but also very minimal in size and quality. All serviceable but not quite comfortable or exceptional in anyway. The mattress was very clean but is also a foam style mattress, which may give some trouble as it runs a little warm and is not as supportive as traditional ones. The breakfast is basic but reliable and plentiful each day should you choose to use it. The property is walking distance from almost everything in central Bergen, but because of the factors above is likely best for a shorter stay vs anything beyond 3 nights."

"The property is well located in central Bergen, but be aware that it's on the edge of a car park and you may experience noise and disturbance. The property is (we believe), adjacent to the owner's property; we could hear loud music from time to time, including late in the evening. The property is satisfactory but could do with an update and redecoration. Pets are allowed and we could detect 'doggie smells'. The TV only allowed us to watch Netflix, and the account credentials ceased to work part way through our stay. We suffered a one hour power cut one evening, although neighbouring properties were unaffected.Overall, Bergen is such a great place to visit, and this property is so well located, that we enjoyed our holiday despite the property's shortcomings."

"Grundsätzlich waren wir mit der Unterkunft sehr zufrieden. Die Betten sind nicht die bequemsten aber OK. Meine Tochter haben ein paar Spinnweben/ Spinnen gestört. Minigolfplatz, Spiel- und Fußballplatz in der Nähe fand mein Enkel super. Der kleine Garten hinter dem Haus ist sehr schön."
