"If you're visiting from far away like the United States or on a special trip, I'd recommend staying at the Blue Apple Beach Club instead. You don't want to cheap on the little stuff on a vacation. The room was advertisied as having Wifi, and it did not have Wifi or cell signal. Youll have to walk by the pool area to make calls. Also the bathroom has black mold around the sink, and the shower water temperature doesn't get warm or hot. Those basic comforts make a big difference on a vacation, so I...

"Fantastic staff, comfortable and cool room and bed, delicious food, gorgeous beach and sea views. Oswaldo was wonderful - when my suitcase was lost on arrival he helped me take a boat to a place to buy cheap clothes. "

"What was unique about this property it was that you had to transport from the city to the island on a small boat that was very unique. And the surrounding. I love the staff they were great always attentive and nice I would definitely go back again."

"Enjoyed my two-night stay at Nena Beach Resort Hotel. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and has air conditioning and nice pool area. The walk from parking is tricky, and there are lots of local vendors trying to sell you. It’s a great spot if you want a nature-focused, local-living experience."

"Es un paraíso, el lugar es divino, las camas deliciosas.
La playa es hermosa y las albercas super cómodas además de que hay muchas.
La comida y el buffet de desayuno espectacular "
"Our stay at Blue Apple was a perfect marriage of luxury and natural beauty. The property is small with each bungalow in its own private space. The rooms were gorgeous, clean, and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. I loved the outdoor shower and all the luxury shampoos/ soaps/ lotion.
The service and food was incredible. We ate so well! The pool area is so comfortable and overlooks the waterfront, facing due west for sunsets. We also loved that the hotel was committed to fair trade and sustainable food and practices.
We would return again in a heartbeat. This is an experience that is worth every penny."
"I love this hotel very friendly, clean , great food , beautiful, we had a problem with our transportation and the from desk was very helpful and she was available to find us transportation."
"The good- the staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is top notch, with amazing views and plenty of comfortable beach loungers. We snorkeled at the beach and there was coral and fish very close by. We had fun during the day at the beach lounging, walking, swimming, and reading.
The bad- upon arrival, they told us we needed to pay “the other half” of what we owed. We had already paid in full on hotels.com, though apparently this was a mistake, that was supposed to only be half the price. In the end they did not make us pay double what we thought we had to pay, but it felt like a negotiation. Also, everything was overpriced. They charged us for potable water. Again, we negotiated with them and they filled our water bottles with potable water for free. However, had we paid the full amount for potable water, we would have spent about $100USD over the 3 nights we stayed there. Most importantly, we stayed in a cabana, and it is definitely not a 5 star hotel. It is glamping. While there is an air conditioner in the room, the walls are all screens and the room is totally open air, so it was very hot the whole time we were there. there were tons of mosquitoes, and I got bit all night despite sleeping under the mosquito net. It was very hard to get sleep considering the heat and the mosquitoes. This hotel would be a fun place to go during the day if you are into partying (loud blasting music all day), but I would not stay there again unless there were changes made.

Those basic comforts make a big difference on a vacation, so I wouldn't recommend if you're on a nice family vacation. They charge for water bottles and the water isnt drinkable. The food options are more limited.
After you've sprung for all the other travel arrangements to get here, just get a nicer hotel. If you're from nearby and could return whenever, the staff are kind and the island is beautiful.
