Hotel Castillos del Mar

"It really wouldn’t be fair to rate this hotel by comparing it to a modern Cancun-style resort. Yes, the hotel is dated, and some of the amenities are as well—there is no air conditioning, for example. But I’m not going to base my entire opinion on that. Our room was very nice, we slept well, and overall the hotel was exactly as described. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. One recommendation: make sure you have Google Translate updated and ready, as it can definitely come in handy! Breakfast is technically separate from the hotel. My understanding is that although it is on a different part of the property, it is under the same ownership. Getting to it can be a little inconvenient, especially for anyone with a disability or difficulty climbing stairs, so that is something future travelers should be aware of. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, were treated very well, and I would still happily give this hotel five stars."

"Booked as a beach getaway to finish the backend of our Tijuana trip and it was nothing short of perfection for a couple or for anyone trying to fall asleep to the waves or stare out onto a once in a lifetime sunset off the pacific coast in a picturesque light, It’s close to all the main spots like popotla village and puerto Nuevo to try the freshest seafood and the jacuzzi is phenomenal off the cliff overlooking the coastline out to the horizon off of a cliff, I looked extensively and this is truly the best option for a beachside getaway near rosarito beach! The hosts Mr and Mrs. Valentine were quick to communicate and make it even more accommodating than it already was!"
