  • Welcome to The Loft at Golden Meadows Farm. This is a picturesque and peaceful getaway in the tall pines on an actual hobby farm with goats, chickens and horses. Beautiful views and hiking on site. This barn apartment is brand new with full kitchen and beautiful finishes. Enjoy meals on the porch with great views of Colorado wildlife. Conveniently located just north of Bayfield in the beautiful Pine River Valley. Convenient location to Purgatory Ski and Wolf Creek Ski as well as Durango and all of the amazing recreation our area has to offer.
    Downstairs is the columbine room with queen size bed, heating and a/c and direct access to the patio with beautiful views. Bathroom includes a stone, walk in shower and all towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner provided. Washer and drier is also included in the unit. The kitchen includes brand new appliances, dishwasher, microwave, oven/range and full sized refrigerator as well as bar top seating. Cooking utensils and dishes provided! The second bedroom is in the loft and includes a king size bed. Large patio is the perfect place to watch wildlife, listen to the birds, or enjoy a meal. Patio has a propane grill and seating. This is the perfect launching pad to adventure or serene spot to rest and enjoy the Colorado beauty. Your hosts are third and fourth generation residents of the area and can provide locals’ recommendations for the best our area has to offer. Farm fresh eggs provided for every stay.

Perfect farm stay

We absolutely loved staying here. The loft was gorgeous and immaculately clean. We loved the animals also! The fresh eggs made the perfect breakfast in the morning. The house had all the supplies we needed to cook some fish we caught locally as well. We will definitely be staying again when we are in town.

We so enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Loft! The beds were cozy, the farm fresh eggs were delicious, and we loved feeding the goats & horses. Bayfield was the perfect spot for our Jeep adventures near Durango and Silverton. Don’t miss dinner at the Mill Street Bistro!

Fun Barndominium

This is a beautiful, new, just outside of a quaint little town, and close to Durango barndominium. We enjoyed this off the beaten path VRBO complete with cute chickens running around the yard. The beds were comfortable and it was beautifully decorated. We’d stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Golden Meadows Farm. Fabulous scenery, fun interactions with goats, chickens and livestock. The loft was well designed, clean and functional. My nonagenarian mother stated it was the best decorated space she had ever stayed in. The owner are very friendly and accommodating.

Wonderful experience

Staying at this loft was a wonderful experience. It’s surrounded by nature, with adorable chickens, goats, horses, and even a cat. We also enjoyed watching a flock of turkeys cross the yard each afternoon. The rooms and furniture were clean and comfortable, and we loved starting our mornings with fresh coffee and eggs provided by the owner. This loft truly made our trip memorable!

What a delight!

Tara and her family thought of everything for this sweet reprieve on the farm. From fresh eggs to onsite walking trails, we felt immersed and relaxed throughout our stay. Beautiful loft, in the middle of a natural paradise.

We loved our stay here. We woke up and had our coffee staring at a natural oasis, with tall pine trees and tons of birds. The chickens and goats offered a fun touch (they were friendly). One of the mornings, we saw a mother elk with child. The interior was spacious, with a great kitchen. Everything a small family or couple would need. The owners are super nice, and provided fresh eggs and local coffee. This is an amazing place to stay, and we highly recommend it!

Excellent location and beautiful, secluded property. A few minutes from Vallecito Reservoir and trails. Also, close to Durango and Pagosa Springs. The farm fresh eggs and farm animals were an added bonus. The beds were comfortable. The house had everything a person might need. Their personal house is nearby, but they were very conscientious and private. Very good communication.

Relaxing getaway!

Really nice two bedroom about 30 min drive from Durango. Converted barn with loft has a really nice finish, comfortable furniture, and a kitchen that is well stocked with utensils and cookware. Clean and new feel. Plenty of seating for a family of four, both indoor and out. Great outdoor setting on a farm with friendly hens, goats and horses. Very pleasant interactions with hosts. Only challenge was the slow/low bandwidth wifi connection, which the hosts are working to remedy. Had to step outside to make calls or send pics, but texting and web searches worked. Since we were on vacation, this was doable, maybe even helped us disconnect from our normal life a bit.

Beautifully designed and maintained loft in a serene country setting with friendly farm animals. Location was easy to find and close to recreation and food options. Communication with Host was very easy and loft was very clean. Everything you needed for a comfy stay was available in the loft. Will definitely recommend to others and hope to visit again soon.
