Step into a spacious, single-story layout that’s easy to navigate, featuring a sunny gourmet kitchen stocked with all the essentials for your culinary adventures. Enjoy meals in the cozy kitchen nook with delightful window seating, or relax in the living room adorned with high-beam ceilings.
Both bedrooms feature newer medium-firm queen mattresses and charming décor, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Below the deck, another picnic table awaits for outdoor gatherings.

Situated in a friendly neighborhood, our two independent cabins share secluded access to the shoreline. A 100-foot natural deer trail (which can be steep) leads you to your private swimming and fishing spot. Enjoy shared amenities, including a 3-person rowboat, a stand-up paddleboard (SUP), fishing poles, and a tackle box to enhance your lake experience. The canoe, SUP and BBQ are not available from the end of October until mid-Spring.
Safety is paramount, so please use the outdoor gear at your own risk and ensure life jackets are worn when enjoying the lake. For fishing licenses and marina information, visit: https://vallecitolakemarina.net.
Due to the tree cover, trash trucks cannot access individual cabins, so guests are responsible for taking their trash to the dumpsters located on the main road. To ensure you have the best experience, I will meet you upon arrival to provide information about the cabin and neighborhood.
One week before your stay, I will start communication on your upcoming trip. As your dedicated host and concierge, I am available to answer any questions or recommendations in the area so this can truly be a memorable trip.
I have a guest book in each cabin with detailed information of the cabin, area, hikes, restaurants and activities. We can also arrange to meet at the cabin so I can better understand your needs, goals, and desires, allowing me to tailor your experience to perfection!
My top priority is to provide you with a comfortable cabin, stocked with just about everything you'll need, while you explore all that Vallecito Lake and the surrounding areas have to offer.
We hope this will be your perfect mountain getaway!

Our family loved our week long stay over the 4th of July. The cabin is very comfortable and the deck and main room of the cabin have great lake views. Definitely recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was so lovely to be on a lake and sit and just chill out. We had everything we needed to make our stay pleasurable.
Excellent views of the lake! Very homey and welcoming.
Hope to stay here again in the future. Even though there are other cabins nearby still get the feeling of solitude.
We had a wonderful stay at this lakeside cabin. The view from this living room is just stunning. Renee was incredibly helpful and attentive. We would absolutely stay here again.
Rene was a great hostess. The view was great. The lake was nearby, the kids loved swimming in the lake. Deer walked up to the property, which the kids loved.
The location was exactly what I was looking for. It had the feeling of seclusion, quick access to the lake, and a quiet setting. The deck was my favorite feature, very peaceful. We had everything we needed inside and out. The communication with the renter was outstanding.
The cabin was wonderful. The path going down to the water was essy going down but coming back up was really tuff. I'm 71 years old and have some health issues but for someone younger it wouldn't be a problem. I would definitely stay here again. The view of the lake was amazing.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was nice and clean and had all the amenities that were promised. We brought all our own food and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The cabin and rooms were very spacious. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, very quiet setting. Although there are several neighbors quite close, we never heard anything from any of them. The view of the lake from the cabin is spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the deck having coffee in the mornings. Everything was quite comfortable and the beds are fantastic!
I only have one complaint which I already discussed with René. When the sun rises over the mountains, it comes through the east facing windows (on the lake side of the cabin) and it’s absolutely blinding. We had to prop up towels in the windows with ski poles for a few hours every morning. This could easily be fixed with a couple of pull-down shades in those windows.
We’re pretty close in Albuquerque, so we will definitely consider coming back.
The host was very friendly and informative. The cabin was cute and the beds were comfortable. However, the sofa was extremely uncomfortable, covered in dog hair and needs to be replaced. The overstuffed chair was fairly comfortable but the biggest issue I had was the cleanliness. There was dog hair everywhere. I accidently dropped something and it rolled under the sofa - oh my god - there was enough hair underneath to cover a small dog. Same under the beds and other furniture including the coffee table legs. The baseboards were filthy with dirt buildup and dog hair. I realize it is an old cabin that's been renovated but it needs a thorough cleaning. The dishes had dried food on them, the dish drainboard needs to be cleaned, the kitchen faucet needs to cleaned, etc, etc. I'm not a clean freak and I don't normally leave a bad review but if it had been cleaner I would have given it a 5-star rating.
It was a great place to stay with everything we needed and we cooked all our meals. I loved the deck with the view of the lake, pines, and aspens. It was a wonderful place to stay and play.
The cabin was very comfortable for 4 adults. Lots of outdoor furniture to sit on with a great view of the lake. Very relaxing and quiet location.

A beautiful, peaceful place to stay
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Rene was so friendly and welcoming, and truly provided everything we could possibly need. The view of Lake Vallecito from the deck of the cabin was amazing. Waking up to that view every morning was the best part of our stay. We highly recommend staying in Rene's cabin, and we plan to do so again in the future.
Rene is the best possible host. Our time at her historic cabin on the lake was fantastic....views, great cabin, many thoughtful amenities!
We so enjoyed the canoe, kayak, and utter peace of our stay. We will be back!
Renee was a perfect host and she has a great place on a beautiful lake! We felt very comfortable and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The neighbors were pleasant and the wooded walk down to the lake is beautiful.. we’re hoping to stay again next year!
The cabin was meticulously clean and comfortable. The hostess was the best. It is conveniently located at the lake. Views from the deck are breathtaking. I would recommend this cabin to my friends.

A great place off the beaten path
This cabin was built more than 70 years ago, but it has been well-maintained, is well-furnished and has a wonderful view of the lake. It provided a super spot for our three-day get-away.
The owner met us upon our arrival, which was a nice touch.
Vallecito Lake is a well-kept secret for the most part so if you are looking for a quiet Colorado location away from the usual tourist traps, we recommend the lake these accommodations.
