"We came for an overnight but if we get the chance later, we’ll stay again. Perhaps at a warmer time of year. Staff of hotel and restaurant were all delightfully competent and friendly. The amenities were good and rooms were spic and span. The ATM wasn’t acceptable by our US bank. The only “wish I had” was actual drinking glasses in our room. We had coffee mugs and wine glasses. The worked, but. . . ."

"This is a well positioned property right on the habour front; we had stunning views from our 9th floor room. The hotel is starting to showing its age with a bit of wear and tear in some areas, but everything was clean and tidy . The included breakfast was ok. The hotel was next to a car park, which was convenient, with access via the lower floor. I would definitely return if in the area. "

"We have stayed at the Algonquin on multiple occasions and this stay was not as enjoyable as past stays. We ate at the Rite Whale pub and the food was not good at all! I almost broke a tooth on the calamari! The service was poor and it was not busy at the pub at all…we were charged a resort fee of $35 at the end of our stay without an explanation and were not told at time of check in that this would occur. Our room wasn’t very clean and the furniture and linens were quite worn out. We were also front row to the renovations of the new spa which was loud. The pool area was lacking in seating and we were left to sit on our towels on the floor…there is def room for improvement based on our stay!"
