Quiet, Cozy Lake Cottage North of Merrifield, Great Getaway!

"This rental exceeded our expectations (and our expectations were high). The space is larger than it looks on-line, with a good sized and very well-stocked kitchen (plenty of dishware, silverwear and cookware for both children and adults and basic kitchen essentials), a nice sized dining room table, a comfortable living room, a screen porch, and a nice game room set up in a remodeled double garage. Lots of nice extra touches---comfy beds and bedding, plenty of towels, a gift basket with homemade maple syrup, a high chair (they knew we were coming with a baby), plenty of games, a garage stocked with bikes and sport things, lots of canoes/rafts/paddleboards, fishing gear, life jackets (but bring your own for babies and toddlers), a great lilypad raft. The lake is clear, beautiful and feels very private. It doesn't have a swimming shoreline (somewhat rocky and weedy), but with the lilypad anchored just off the dock the kids (ages 2-6) had a great time jumping off of it in life jackets (and we could stand there to catch them), and the baby did great floating with one of us in a raft. We rented the pontoon for a day which was worth it, although we caught just as many sunfish from the dock."

"Even though the lake level was way low, we had fun with our boat on the lake, with the house’s croquet set and our fireworks on the huge lawn, eating on the big deck, cooking and playing games in the spacious kitchen/livingroom area, and with the fuzball table on the lower level!"

"Nice cabin very close to the lake. Loved the fire pit and bunk house for the kids! Nice living room and easy coded entry for check-in. Basic beds and pillows, along with a few amenities to use in the kitchen. Recommend this for groups up to 4 people--we had 8 guests and it was a little too small for us."

"Our stay was perfect in every way. When we arrived, I felt as though we were stepping into a Pottery Barn showroom. Although the house was not huge, the high ceilings, open floor plan and lighting made it seem very spacious. Our group was two couples and the two bedrooms, each with a king bed and bathroom worked out great. We took advantage of the kayaks on the beautiful clear lake as well as the hot tub. The location was convenient to both Cross Lake and Nisswa. We have rented several cabins in this area over the last several years and feel that this was our best experience. We would highly recommend this property."

"This location was conveniently located near Nisswa, where we had a family functioning taking place. It was clean and well-furnished. My only small wish would be an extra fan or additional a/c unit in the bedroom, but I do recognize it is the heart of the summer and bound to be warm."
