Great location but needs cleaning
The property is in a great location on the main strip in Barwon Heads. It is close enough to walk to the beach and the local shops. The property was neat but absolutely needs more cleaning, it was extremely dusty with spider webs everywhere... with little kids who like to play on the floor this was a huge problem and sparked up allergies. There is a vacuum on the premises but that looked like it had never been cleaned out. The washing machine filter was also completely disgusting and my clothes came out dirtier than when they went in. The host was great and allowed an early check in

Hi Mirjana, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The apartment was cleaned 2 days prior to your arrival so only minimal dust could’ve settled in that time. I was there just prior and didn’t see spider webs everywhere. I used the washing machine and my clothes were fine. I didn’t know that washing machine has a filter but rest assured, that will be an added check. There are 2 vacuums both stored in the same place. The old one was full and will be disposed of. I have spoken with the cleaner and all surfaces were wiped and the floors had a vac and mop. I would’ve been happy to get the cleaner back so you could point any issues so that they could be resolved. It would’ve been great if you’d reached out. It’s important to me that my guests have a a great stay. As a host I like the chance to resolve any issues. Kind Regards Kathleen

Girls Getaway
Perfect location for our weekend, walking distance to shops ( in the Main Street above Strumpet) restaurants and beaches. Appreciated the option for early check-in and late check-out. Kathleen is a great host and very responsive to any questions etc.

Great getaway location

Kate great to deal with. Check in/ electronic lock easy to use. Apartment extremely clean and no signs of wear. Balcony easily accommodated us so we could enjoy watching the world pass by. Tree added privacy and shade. We walked nearly everywhere. Great place to stay.

Epic spot, right in the heart of village.
Very easy to communicate with Katherine, all as advertised, right in the middle of a lovely little lovely street, with a great breaky joint across road, and short walk to beach. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Kate's Place a real treat
We only spent 4 days at Kate's Place and it was delightful stay. From the time we opened the door we felt comfortable. The place was very tidy and clean and the ambience warm and welcoming. The place was equipped with all the amenities we needed. Our communications with Kathleen were most friendly and she was extremely accommodating. It was such a treat staying there and Kate's Place will definitely be our 'go to' place when we are next in Barwon Heads. Thank you, Kate. Paul & Jo

This place has everything!
We went here for a 2 night girl’s weekend. We wanted comfort, position, balcony and walking distance to everything. We got it all at Kate’s place. Super comfortable, warm and tastefully furnished. One of the highlights was the balcony. Despite being directly above a shop, with people walking past, they never looked up at us. So we still felt private and quite secluded. Great place, will definitely go back!

We will stay again
We originally booked for Melbourne Cup weekend but had to postpone due to Covid restrictions. The owner was very accommodating offering a full refund or to reschedule which we did. Throughout constant communication meant things went smoothly. We are so glad we postponed as our trip was very enjoyable and the accommodation perfect for us with location a plus. Would definitely like to stay again.

Our stay at Kate’s Place was wonderful. Lovely apartment in excellent position, so close to everything the gorgeous town of Barwon Heads has to offer. Kate was a great host, prompt with correspondence and very obliging. Don’t think twice about it, just book it!

Perfect Getaway
Terrific property in a perfect location. It was well maintained and had everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Restaurants and shops on the door step and an easy walk to the beach. Security was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay in Barwon Heads which was made more enjoyable by staying at this conveniently located apartment which allowed us to walk everywhere. The apartment was well equipped with everything you could think of and the beds were so comfortable with lovely linen.

Suggested items
Lovely location spotlessly clean. The following is constructive suggestions: The very high bedroom windows (2.5m high) couldn’t be opened. Ceiling fans in bedrooms would be advantageous especially for the hotter nights. More towel rails in bathroom would help dry towels . Bottom shower seal needs replacing, Added mirror apart from the bathroom . Cheers.... James & Pamela Taylor

The perfectly central place to stay in Barwon Heads for two couples. Just across the road from great cafe’s and shops. A quick stroll to the bridge and hotel. Brilliantly equipped apartment. Perfect!

So Convenient
Very comfortable with provision for indoor time, games and a great range of DVDs, beautifully clean, spacious, east facing balcony overlooking the shopping strip but quiet indoors, and oh so convenient!

Why stay in Geelong?
We booked in Barwon Heads as we couldn't find late accommodation in Geelong in order to attend the football on Saturday afternoon. We also had business to attend to in Newcomb on Friday afternoon. Kate's Place proved to be an excellent choice and we would stay there again. Close to everything in Barwon and an easy trip back to Geelong. Accommodation was excellent.
