The Friday night we stayed there was really loud. There were children running up and down the hallways. Cars coming in and going. Doors banging, loud music and loud TVs. It was more like a party scene when all we wanted to do was rest after our 10 Hour drive. The bar was full and loud, which was OK. There’s a restaurant on site which is great. The pool and Jacuzzi are outside and they were open and that was nice. It was relaxing. However, everyone from the bar had windows facing that area and we’re staring at us. I felt like I was on display. The gym looked nice. And then on Saturday morning as I was still in a deep sleep, the cleaning staff knocked on the door loudly at about 9:30 AM. Check out is at 11 AM. I was really upset being woken up so rudely when I was so tired. I guess I should be more specific next time and leave direct instructions at the front desk, not to be bothered until 10:45 AM. There’s a complementary breakfast in early in the mornings, but I am not a morning person so I don’t know what was served. I just wish there was more respect from the other guests, running up and down the hallway and banging the doors. But maybe it is not that kind of a hotel. Perhaps I should look for a hotel, Decatur to older folk who liked their peace and quiet, if such a place exists! Overall, it is a nice hotel just probably not for us. I doubt I will stay there again.

Breakfast was disappointing because it wasn’t kept stocked. No eggs, no sausage, barely any sausage gravy or oatmeal, whip cream and strawberries for waffles were gone. Kitchen staff was clearly not on top of it. This was long before breakfast closure and it wasn’t busy. I will say it did have good options had it been kept stocked. Great location and nice lobby, bar, and outdoor area.
