"Great base for Loughborough Uni, lovely village for a walk. The room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was good but started a bit late on the weekend at 9am. We also ate in the pub and both meals and service was excellent. Easy parking."

"We really enjoyed our stay for just one night. We found the parking convenient and safe, although we did an extra circuit of the campus as the signposting in the last 150 metres wasn't clear. The breakfast was good, and the staff were professional, helpful and made us feel relaxed. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Elite Athlete Hotel again. Many thanks, Keiron Chatterjea"

"Bathroom was poor with outdated bath and shower which was dangerous to use. The group booking for 9 people did not seem to exist. Very poor internal communication. The bedroom doors were not soft close and banged all night as people went to their rooms. We were refused entry to the dining area at 7.00 pm as we hadn't booked never having being informed of such a procedure at reception. Finally two days before we were due to arrive we were informed that our booking made on Jan 23rd nearly 2 months prior was cancelled due to overbooking!! After several phonecalls to the hotel we finally got our booking reinstated. What a stressful experience for an 82 year old alumni of the University attending our 63rd reunion (Rutherford Hall block 5 ,1963) "

"Ample parking, friendly reception staff, a very dated hotel, disabled stairlift out of action between reception and bar / restaurant area. Room 109, 24” TV, remote control battery cover gaffer taped up, pixelated picture, reception notified, they changed the co-ax cable and handset, but no real improvement in picture quality. Bedside light did not work, bulb replaced by staff, still didn’t work, so given a freestanding bedside light. Bathroom radiator didn’t work, and couldn’t be turned on, both sink and bath plugs, rubber type, discoloured, as pop up wastes were missing, bathroom extractor fan covered in dust. Restaurant staff overworked, 1 member of staff, trying to setup for a business function as well as trying to keep up with refilling cooked breakfast items. Tablecloths not changed when table had been reset, baked bean sauce stains on the tablecloth. and napkins missing from the table. Definitely wouldn’t return."

"Hotel was dated and felt slightly creepy as we were the only people staying there. We had paid online and breakfast was £12, however when we checked in breakfast was advertised at £7.95, very naughty. Next day we went to breakfast and no one was there. We helped ourselves to coffee and cereal and eventually someone came in to cook breakfast. To be fair it was nice and piping hot as they had to cook from scratch. The same girl was on reception when we left, didnt feel like anyone else was working there? Our bedroom was large but shabby and the hotel wasnt particularly clean. Cost was cheap but still disappointing"

"Really lovely guest house. Very friendly and welcoming owners. Clean and spacious room and traditional, tasty breakfast in the morning. Hope to stay again."
