About this property
Historical 150 year old Timber Cabin at Kangaroo Valley
'Restdown' is a unique stylish, 150 year old cottage, that is 100% sustainable, with a new roof and new battery/ solar system. The homestead was originally built in 1870, in the small town of Weethalle, near West Wyalong in the NSW Riverina. Restdown was carefully dismantled and each piece numbered, so that the cottage could be reassembled in its current location - a secluded 1.71 HA property on the slopes of Barrengarry Mountain, 7 minutes away from the beautiful village of Kangaroo Valley.

The cabin was spacious and well set out and equipped. The grounds were also spacious and well tendered and a pleasure to spend time in or on the verandah with spectacular mountain and valley views. I was a bit worried about no town water or electricity but it wasnt a problem at all. The water from the taps tasted great although pressure obviously wasnt the same as Sydney, we watched TV each night, ran our computers, charged phones and had the air con on once or twice. The solar panels and battery storage was phenomenal.
Had a very enjoyable stay at Restdown. The location is beautiful, the house is very comfortable and cosy. The owner was very helpful. Would definitely recommend
