"Rented this spot in Ticino and it worked out perfectly. Walking distance to a bakery/coffee shop. Had a great meal at Ristorante Sport. Migros grocery store is right down the street. Small village of 1500 people. Close drive to Lugano and only an hour drive to Malpensa airport. The views of the lake are fantastic."

The property has a lovely garden and view of the lake but best suits someone with a car as there is a limited bus timetable to and from Varenna and is not suitable for walking. We travelled in October so perhaps there may be better transport options in the summer months. The room had everything we needed but could do with some updating."

"Loved our time at this property. We had 14 people and it worked out great. Location so close to the lake was fabulous and we could easily get to the ferry and train stations. Host David was fabulous and always available. Going to Bellagio and Varenna and Mennagio was great since there are no lines at Colico and it is quiet, peaceful and away from tourists at this property. "Loved out triple room, windows on two sides looking over the water. Large bathroom that you accessed through what looked like a wardrobe door. Beautiful old building with lovely architectural feature. Breakfast was very nice. The only issue we had was that we were a bit cold at night (it was late March) and although we understood that the central heating wouldn’t be pumping at that time of year, we asked reception for more blankets and were just told no. Didn’t ruin our stay but I don’t think we were asking for too much there."
