The rental was beautiful, with a gorgeous window view of the gothic quarter. I loved that it was right in the heart of everything. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very glad we chose this property for our stay! :)

Modern conversion, very central. Washing machine, cooker and dishwasher. Busy area but quiet at night. Ice cream shop and bakery just outside so ideal for returning to apartment and breakfasts. Outside covered in graffiti which was a bit off putting but most walls in Barcelona are covered in graffiti.

It was a nice appartment but....1 of two a/c and 1 of two toilets did not work. The appartment 2111 was worn out. Needed paint and some good love to look like the pictures. I called to complain and they did not call me back. The pictures sell one thing and the reality is very different. Disappointing over all.

The location was ideal and where we wanted to be in the Gothic area, the terrace was spacious and nice. But check-in required walking about 10 mins away with our luggage which was unexpected and disappointing. The flat is tired and not in the best shape. Don't let the staged photos fool you. The shower door wouldn't stay shut so it leaked everywhere. The laminate floor is old and tired. It has a 1 person elevator so getting luggage up was difficult. Furniture is very basic. I wouldn't stay again.

Amazing location. Overall clean. Check in was ok but would have loved to know there was a public holiday and the Main Street to get there was blocked. When I called to get info on how to get there ....there wasn’t much help. No emergency number either.

No AC? We reported it by phone and email. No one came to offer fans or any solution. We had to sleep in 82 degree temps. During the day it was unbearable. We even called the after hours service and were told it was not something they could address at that time. Upon check in the checkin person was short and snippety. Also, it is unrealistic to walk several blocks with your luggage and children to find a room. A car service should be offered. Lastly the round metal key was not easy to use.

Overall we were very disappointed with our stay. The apartment was not a luxury unit as advertised, and it was much more expensive than a stay in a nice hotel would have cost. [ ] Bulbs out in recessed lights in main room and master bedroom [ ] Inadequate instructions for washer/dryer [ ] No laundry soap [ ] No instructions for safe. Verbal instructions wrong. Safety hazard - needs renovation
Besides being in a central location (Gothic Quarter), this 2-bedroom apartment was run-down (cheap materials) and was not worth the money we paid. - a piece of the bathroom wall was missing, exposing nails (safety hazard) - water damaged floors would made it uneven - blocked shower which made water run out of the bathroom into the hallway floors -cheap materials falling off (i.e. toilet flush cover, etc) - wifi was weak. didn't work in the 2nd bedroom - the apartment needs renovation - very noisy (we could hear our neighbors, people in the hallway, people drunk in the streets) The limited pros: - washer machine - kitchen - central location I wish we would have booked a proper hotel instead

Everything was great except for the check in is in an office somewhere else and it took us a while to figure it out since it was in the small details in the reservation. I recommend sending an e- mail or text spicificaly about checking in in advance like a week prior to make it a smoother process. Once we got to the office it was excellent the employee was amazing and made it a much pleasant arrival.

I like the modern and trendy interior design of the apartment. The location is perfect for shopping and eating out. I also like the 6th floor terrace overlooking the city. The only negative comment I have is that my two children that slept on the pull out couch seemed to have woken up with several big bites. Frankly this ruined their stay and resulted in a sleepless night.

We were on the 6th floor. We had a great roof garden plus steps to antoner level to the back overlooking the spires of the old cathedral and the street. Also a balconey over the front overlooking rooftops. Lovely modern property with all you need ie compact kitchen with hob, wash machine, oven, microwave, kettle etc. Iron, hairdryer. Good shower. Lovely apartment on 6th floor - however lift was out of order for our entire stay and we were not advised about this - 102 steps up a steep almost spiral staircase with luggage and after a 25,000 step day was not appreciated. Also safe was not working - advised short stay apartments on day we arrived and they never returned our call. Good location, lovely apartment but disappointed by the lift not working.

Xmas break in Barcelona
This is a fantastic apartment for a family with children, located in the middle of the gothic quarter. We stayed on the 5th floor, so we were away from the noise of the hustle and bustle in the streets but right in the heart of the action. Two double rooms and two bathrooms, plus a separate lounge diner felt very spacious. Recommended.

The problem was not the apartment as we never got to see it. After a tremendous run around trying to figure out how to get the key from Short Stay which was located on a street with no vehicle access (unknown to us since we are not familiar with the area) we finally arrived at the apartment after lugging a lot of luggage thru the streets to this apartment which is also located on a no vehicle access location only to discover that the elevator was broken and there was no electric or wifi. Short Stay says they were not aware of this but they must have been informed since they were aware that the apartment was being cleaned when we picked up the key. Whether they were dishonest or not they caused us a very unpleasant first day in Barcelona and wasted most of our day then we had to find another place to stay as well. Then we had to jump thru hoops to get our money refunded by them and expedia. Short stay lacked integrity.

What a wonderful stay
What a great location and the hotel was even better than expected. Walked to everything with no trouble. The heater was not working in the room but that was really a minor issue because it was right on the edge of needing it. Temps were cooler than usual outside with snow on the mountains.

Nice apartment but with some longstanding issues.
It’s a nice and well equipped apartment but it has some longstanding issues. All reviews say that the shower leaked, and despite nearly a year of complaints, the water pools all over the floor and corridor, necessitating mops and buckets at each shower! It should be fixed as it’s been a recurring issue. There is noise from the street, but the bedrooms are quiet. On a positive note, it’s well located and a nice apartment overall.

Excellent location off Las Ramblas in Gothic Quarter. Contemporary, clean, with A/C. Only issues were that the shower door didn't close all the way so water ended up all over the bathroom floor, and part of the bathroom sink faucet wouldn't stay in place. Beds were very comfortable, bedrooms in the back meant they were not noisy, which I was expecting. Staff at SSG were very helpful.

Chic apartment with a few niggles
As other reviewers had mentioned, it is a short walk to retrieve the keys to access the apartment. It’s also handy to know that taxis will not drop you at the apartment as it’s not really accessible to most traffic. Be prepared to walk at least 5 mins, depending on where you get dropped off. We walked for about 15 which was hot work, dragging suitcases and bags in the afternoon summer sun. Staff at the office were really pleasant and spoke excellent English. Unfortunately, the lift wasn’t working when we arrived so we had to lug our suitcases up the narrow stairs to the 4th floor. Not the best first impression. The lift broke down at least 3 more times during our 10 day stay which was quite an inconvenience. The apartment itself was gorgeous and well equipped. However, the main bathroom overflowed every time we had a shower - they will bring you extra towels to help combat this issue. We had family staying on the 1st floor and they also had this issue. However, their water pressure was much better than ours and so was the efficacy of their air conditioning which was very handy given we were there in summer. We found sleeping in the main bedroom quite uncomfortably warm. Aside from these issues, we loved the location of the apartment and how secure it was. It was very spacious by European standards and having a full kitchen was a luxury. It was also a treat to have Croissanterie del Pi only a minute’s walk away - very handy for those who depend on their morning coffee.

Only complaint was the elevator broke down and was out of service for 2 days. When we got to the apartment the outside of the building didn't look so great. Once we got inside the apartment was great. Large windows to open and watch all the people walking by. Great breeze. In the heart of La Rambla. Couldn't get a better location.

Great Location, Superb Apartment!
Pros: Location is great. It is few mins walk from La Rambla Street and the Gothic Quarters. Apartment is very clean, spacious and well kept. Has all the basic amenities one needs. Cons: Check in process is a bit of a hassle, as you have to go to another location (5-7 mins walk) to get the keys for the apt. Wasn't given proper instructions on how to operate the AC thermostat or that there is no Detergent for washing clothes (Even though Washing machine is present). Overall, everything was great and I'd definitely stay here again.

Perfect appartment in a perfect location

Badly run business. Location is super and views from the windows are amazing but everything else was disappointing. We had an apartment on fifth floor. When we arrived the elevator was broken, so we ended up carrying all of our luggage up the tight and narrow winding staircase. Luckily it was fixed after we called the next day. The shower doors were leaked all over the bathroom floor in both bathrooms. The door in the washing machine was stuck and we couldn't open it until the handyman came 30 minutes before check-out. For such a high price, we would have appreciated at least some laundry detergent or tea to be provided in the apartment. It was not worth the expense.

Lovely apartment, fabulous location.
The apartment was great. Roomy, comfortable and well equipped. Prior to arriving I was a little concerned about security as I have never stayed somewhere without a front desk/reception area, but the entrance opens into a small plaza with nice shops and we always felt safe coming and going even after dark. The apartment was very clean but did have a few maintenance issues (leaky shower door) but nothing that caused too much trouble as our unit had 2 showers. There is a nice supermarket about 2 blocks away. We loved waking up to the church bells from the cathedral about 100 yards away. Office was about a 10 minute walk from Plaza Catalunya and about a 5 minute walk from the office to the apartment (although we did walk by the office about 3 times before we found it - small SSG sign above the doorbell.) Actually we got lost in the Gothic quarter EVERY day. The streets are all curved and you think you are heading one way but you are not...thankful for google maps on our phone!!!

I would highly recommend! Perfect location right off of Las Ramblas, very clean, and very modern. The staff at SSG was incredibly helpful as well. As other reviews state, the check in office is at a different location (about a 6 minute walk) and the elevator at the apartment building is VERY small. I wouldn’t let these two aspects deter you- just things to be aware of to manage expectations. I would definitely recommend to friends visiting Barcelona in the future!

A centrally located, spacious, bright, clean apartment with lot of character. Its an old building converted to meet modern needs but still preserves the old charm. La Rambla, the Cathedral, Placa de catalunya are just 5mts walk. From Placa de catalunya you have easy access to public transport, metros, taxis, hop-on hop-off buses and a lot of tapas bars and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay here and looking fwd to revisit.

Great location, poorly managed.
We spent two nights In this apartment in January (on the fourth floor) in a great location in the Gothic Barrio. The apartment was updated and modern, with excellent heating and amenities. However, one of the bathrooms had a strong smell of sewage which could only be used with the window open, and the shower door in the second bathroom leaked so heavily that water flowed into the hallway. From the condition of the shower door seal and the flooring in the hallway, it was apparent this issue has been ongoing for some time. We notified the management company by email first thing early the first morning, but never received a response. When we advised the office at checkout, there was complete apathy. We were told that we should have called, even though all communication up to that point was via email, and there is a surcharge if you call for assistance outside of office hours. Of the many places we’ve rented over the years in Barcelona, this was easily the least traveler friendly. Also note that checkin is at a separate location about 10 minutes from the apartment, so you’ll be dragging your luggage unless you have a taxi drop you off in front of the apartment and walk to the office to get the keys. Also be aware of the many expensive surcharges; if you arrive after 8pm you’ll be charged a late fee, if you call outside office hours for assistance you’ll be charged a fee, and if you don’t take your trash to a dumpster at checkout, you’ll also be charged.

Great location! In the center of everything. You will be able to find all the stores, restaurants, and supermarkets steps away from your door. Because the apartment is on a pedestrian walk way you would need to walk The equivalent of two blocks to get to the nearest metro station or bus stop or taxi.
