We had the unique opportunity to stay here right before Spain shut down for the C virus. We decided to rent a car, which was such a blessing because they stopped the funicular the day before we were done with our stay. The staff was very caring even though they were concerned for their safety and future. The Hotel I believe used to be part of the Monastery ... Sure, the room was a little dated ... added to the charm. The view right down to the monastery was amazing, if quite quiet because of the impending lock down. Our beds were not as hard as previously reviewed. We slept well. We got breakfast and dinner both nights. The breakfast sandwiches we took away for our last night in Spain kept us going for our night in Barcelona, when all the restaurants were closed. Food was very good, a little on the fatty side, served on white table cloths with excellent service to match. Wine and beer was extra, but we knew that. All in all, a great stay during a difficult time. Prayers and blessings to all the folks up there!
