IT is a beautiful historical property but needs upgrades and better maintenance. The food at the hotel was mediocre and not worth the money even after they were giving guests 30% discount. The location does not work well if you are a tourist. The streets around it get blocked off all the time and the traffic to get to it is generally pretty bad especially in the late afternoon to early evening and you end up sitting in your taxi or uber for a long time with the fare keeping on going up. I would recommend people stay in the Condesa or Roma Norte area which is quieter and easier to maneuver with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The breakfast buffet especially was pretty poor….the guy making the omelette also did not have many options for fillings and made a pretty poor one and that too in a city known for its food. The bar keeper did not have much knowledge of the items on the menu which was also very limited and the location of the bar was public. In this wide open space ventilation was limited but no attempt was made to improve that by maybe putting in large fans to circulate the air. As for the room itself, the first night after we checked in we had a nightstand only on one side of the bed which was uncomfortable. The next day we called for the second nightstand and it took some pushing and complaining before they finally sent up a second one.The bed however was comfortable. The bathroom could very well do with an upgrade. Not the place for me for a future stay.
