Beautiful well kept, clean vintage feeling home and great location. Jenna was super helpful and responsive to any questions. Our boys had a great time and would love to come back sometime! Especially loved the small touches and thoughtfulness in making sure there was coffee available. Thank you!
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful mountain cottage! The attention to detail and the amenities were outstanding—everything was thoughtfully provided and made us feel right at home. It’s a perfect spot for families, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy time together. The hot tub and fire pit were a huge hit and made our evenings extra special. The host was wonderful—so welcoming and helpful with recommendations for things to do around town. We can’t wait to come back!
We came up for a girls trip and we had an amazing experience. Everything in the house was gorgeous and it was so clean and well maintained. The host has really taken the time to think of every little detail with intention and thoughtfulness. From the little baskets of “ in case you forgot” to the welcome book she created complete with recommendations and handwritten notes, we truly felt so welcome and wanted for nothing! It was a great cozy weekend and we all said that we would definitely visit again!
This property was great for our family. Our kids range in age from 1 year- 21 years; the house was perfect for all. There were toys for the younger kids and space for the older ones to relax after they came back from the slopes. We all enjoyed the hot tub. The property felt private even though there were other houses on the street. If it was warmer we would’ve like to
This property is such a peaceful spot with great amenities. From the front porch, you'll have a beautiful view of the valley and trees. The home itself is furnished beautifully, and the kitchen is well-equipped with what you need to make a home-cooked meal. The mattresses and pillows are high-quality and comfortable. Don't be fooled by the artwork over the fireplace--it's actually a TV! My children enjoyed the ping-pong table in the garage, which stayed amazingly cool even on a summer day. And we made great use of the fire pit and hot tub. There's a short walk to the river, and the riverfront area is truly beautiful. Even saw a doe and fawn there drinking from the river. The property has great proximity to the original Mast General Store as well as Crab Orchard Falls via a public trail located the Valle Crucis Conference Center. The property is also just 10 minutes from a grocery store. Overall, it was a great location for day trips to Boone, Grandfather Mountain, and Blowing Rock. I recommend the property and the host and would love to stay here again if I'm in the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We visited the area for our daughter's orientation at App State. The house was conveniently located for all our needs. Jenna was very quick to answer any questions we had. We saw lots of deer on the walking path and enjoyed drinks at the Barnyard on the weekend evenings. Great location to feel away from everything while also close enough to restaurants and activities.
We have stayed in many VRBOs and this is one of our favorites! It is so cute, with a fabulous view, comfortable beds and linens. It is cozy and well appointed and beautifully decorated. central to Boone and Banner Elk. The hosts have thought of everything. This is a great spot!
This was an absolutely wonderful stay. This is one of those places that we wish we could keep a secret because we loved it so much, but they deserve a great review.Every detail was well thought out within the house. It was comfortable and had lots of activities to keep us entertained. The location was great - felt close to so many attractions, yet still in nature. The host was fantastic. She made sure we felt comfortable before, during, and after the stay. We hope to return soon!
Brown Dog Heaven was exactly as pictured and Jenna was a wonderful host. She communicated proactively and was responsive to questions. The property is beautifully decorated and the aesthetic of vintage mountain house really sets the tone for relaxing trip. The hot tub is a great perk after a day of hiking or being on the slopes! We travel often and have stayed in many rentals, I can easily say this one was one of the best for being stocked with necessities and the comforts of home. The beds are comfy and everything was clean and tidy. Location is a huge plus here as well as it is central to many different areas: Boone, Sugar Mountain, Blowing Rock, beech Mountain, Grandfather Mountain are all less than 25 minutes by car. The historic Mast General store is right down the street also.We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!
