★ OTHER THINGS TO NOTE ★
Please note that this log cabin is 170-years-old. It's been well-cared for and offers plenty of cozy charm but does have characteristics of a historic home such as bumpy flooring, uneven stairs, and the occasional draft if it's cold and windy outside. In the winter the house is heated by the gas fireplace and electric space heaters so this may not be the best fit for guests who have balance issues or unsupervised children. In addition, we are located in the woods, the property is treated but there is a good chance you might see a bug or two in the warmer seasons!

We really enjoyed our stay in this historic cabin and checking out the activities, sites, and scenery in the area. The cabin was a cozy place to return to at the end of each day.
Great stay- perfect place to stay - between Boone and Banner Elk. Near to the parkway for hiking and sightseeing plus Grandfather Vineyard and winery was an easy daily trip to end the afternoon.
Cozy cabin with a touch of rustic and vintage atmosphere. We loved stay here and enjoyed the comfort the house was offering to our family of 5 with our small dog. Good position to visit the area around. Shelley was always available and very responsive to ours needs.Recommend.
This was the perfect location for our short trip to do some hiking. Very close to the trail heads. Clean cabin that had every thing we needed. Host was great with communication.
My husband and I so enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin, and the rich history of it was not lost on us! This is truly a one of a kind stay! I do think that solid curtains in the bedrooms would do better to block out the yard/street light and make for better rest. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!
My wife and I stayed here with a couple friends, and we loved it! The cabin is very comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s very close to Grandfather Mountain and a great winery, and we enjoyed both. Definitely recommend!
This cabin is so unique and charming! We enjoyed listening to the rain on the tin roof swaying on the screened in porch swing. The fire from the gas logs and the comfortable couches provided a perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of the day. The location to hiking trails, good restaurants and snow tubing couldn’t be beat. We thoroughly enjoyed our mountain getaway!
Rustic and comfortable. Had everything we needed including the lob cabin charm. Closer to everything than we thought it would be. Only issue was the drive way was a rutted, but we had a truck so we didn’t have any trouble.
Great time, perfect weather. Lots of hiking. Very dog friendly community. Nice little cabin, enjoyed it, perfect for what we were doing. Great location.
We had a lovely stay here and enjoyed our family trip to the area. The cabin was very cute and cozy. It was a little bit cold in the living room with a draft from the front door that made it hard to keep warm but otherwise everything was perfect!
I loved this place . It was exactly like it looked but much much better . Very clean and had everything you could need plus more . Conveniently located . I am coming back in the Spring.
This trip was for our first year wedding Anniversary. I picked this location because I had stayed at it 3 years prior with some family and loved it. Overall the stay was great, there were a few cleanliness issues but overall it is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful town! Loved the surrounding area and all the restaurants.
My husband, my two old labs, and I stayed here for a weekend getaway! It was perfect!! We were close to all the ski hills. The house was so cozy and clean and came with updated amenities. The house's location is wonderful for convenience and inclement weather; snow hit fast Sunday night and with the house not being on a steep incline, etc. like most rentals in the mountains it was very easy to enter and leave!! Shelley was a wonderful host and so fast to respond!
This is a sweet little 175 year old cabin and a “one of a kind” experience. The location is great ….close to everything, but yet offers serenity and peace. The property owner was super responsive and cabin well stocked with anything you would need. She even left a nice surprise to enjoy around the camp fire. We would definitely rent again!!
We enjoyed the cabin. I loved the age of the original cabin structure and how you could see the original craftsmanship. Great upgrades to give it all that is expected in convince. Location was great for quickly getting around the area for shopping dining and hikes on the parkway.
Really loved Banner Elk and the surrounding area. The cabin was perfect for us. The firepit area and back porch were our favorite spots to hang with weather in the low 70's everyday. Hiked the Boone Fork Trail (5 miles) with our dog and it was the best hike I have ever taken with rivers, mountains and all types of things to look at. The cabin is really fun as well. Everything works and was clean. We had a great week!
Loved the bed, bath, and overall decor of the place. Only downsides were really the location as it's not very private. But, on the upside it is very centrally located to all that area has to provide, including wineries, trails, waterfalls, and Grandfather Mountain. Overall, definitely a great option.
Property manager is wonderful and easy to contact and very helpful.
We had another lovely stay at this cabin. Everything we needed was there and the extra towels and toiletries were a bonus! Shelley was easy to communicate with and the screened in porch, even in the rain, was a dream! Thank you again!
You will feel right at home in this cabin. The owner has put so much thought into each detail and provided so many of the comforts of home. What an awesome getaway for me, my SIL, and niece. We loved using the gas logs on chilly mornings and having a glass of wine by the fire pit at night. The beds and pillows were so comfy! I just can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s convenient to everything you want to do too! We are already planning our next trip. Thank you!!
