"Staying at the Dunraven is always a pleasure. The friendly welcome and service throughout the stay is something you will only find in a hotel like this. It feels more personal. The fires were lit, the lounge areas are perfect for relaxing. And the room is a standard above most others. "

"I would recommend this place to anyone who goes to Cork. Spacious and quiet. We went with our 15 and 9 years old boys and they didn’t get bored as they had their own beds and plenty of plugs to charge their devices. There’s a telly as well where you can login to your favourite streaming services. Internet is super fast, as you can imagine, that’s another reason why kids were not bored. LOL. The communal kitchen is spacious so if you run into another guest, you won’t have that “awkward moment” where you don’t know where to look at to avoid eye contact. Clean towels, bedding, toilet and kitchen. Minor criticism is that as we were leaving the place, we checked behind the couches just to make sure we were not forgetting anything, we found some rubbish that wasn’t ours and it was old meaning that, that rubbish it’s been there for quite some time so that needs a bit of attention by management and cleaning staff. Don’t worry, you won’t need to bring you “forensic’s equipment” to check the room out! Just something I thought to mention because however small, it is important. If you don’t say anything, it cannot be fixed. The staff was super helpful, one of the nights, I had the keys whilst my husband and kids wanted to go back to the place so they couldn’t get in. My husband contacted the emergency phone number they provided and within FIVE minutes, the manager turned up with a spare set of keys! Over all, super recommend."

"Breakfast food for the first day was graciously provided by the owner. Accommodations for our 7 adults family was very spacious. If coming from the US be aware the are switches in the bathroom to active hot water in the showers. We had a hiccup with the hot water supply but the owner was very quick to resolve the issue. The close proximity to town (6 minute drive) provide d restaurants/pubs, food store, pharmacy, gasoline, church, shopping…. I highly recommend this house. "

"The cottage was lovely, just as advertised. David, the host, met us on arrival. He was so welcoming and friendly. The best part of the day was returning home to the cottage after traveling around. We especially loved that the cottage is on David's farm. The sunrises were beautiful. We will miss the village of Adare and David's puppies who greeted us each day. "

If one wants to experience a true rural Irish holiday stay here.David,the host,was most attentive and made us truly welcome.If you are an animal lover you will get a lot of enjoyment because you are staying at a working cattle farm.One will need a car even though Adare is a short drive. Walking by the road is not an option.I have stayed at many VRBO rentals and if the you like historical charm and warmth ,choose the Thatched cottage. "
