About this property

Willie Mae’s Cottage at The Homestead B & B

  • Welcome to the historic Homestead at the Dripping Springs. This house is one of three available lodgings each of the three dwellings are unique to their time period, style and setting. Clara's House and Butler Cabin are all part of the Homestead at the Dripping Springs and can be reserved at the same time to sleep a total of 8 people.
    They are centrally located in the Historic Mercer Street District of Dripping Springs, close to shops, wedding venues, wine trails, parks and beautiful country roads.

    The newest addition to the Homestead is Willie Mae's Cottage. It is a rock and board/batten cottage with a tiled walk-in shower, large bathroom, kitchenette and breakfast nook that looks out on the large oak tree and swing. The stone used to complete the cottage was furnished from the original smokehouse on the historic property. This romantic cottage is furnished with period antiques and re-purposed wood from the community. Large side porch with rockers that overlook historic corral and ancient oak tree.

    Includes free continental breakfast, flat-screen TV, WIFI, queen-sized bed, hairdryer, and a snack basket full of goodies.

Willie Mae’s Cottage will always hold a special place in our hearts. We stayed here for our honeymoon immediately after getting married, and it could not have been a more perfect setting for the beginning of our marriage. The cottage is peaceful, charming, full of history, and clearly cared for with a lot of love. We especially enjoyed the beautiful old stone walls, the huge trees, the quiet courtyard, and all of the little touches throughout the property that make it feel warm and personal instead of just another place to stay. We were able to slow down, enjoy meals together, sit outside, laugh, relax, and simply enjoy being newly married. It gave us exactly the kind of quiet, memorable weekend we were hoping for. The owners have created something very special here, and we are grateful they shared it with us. Willie Mae’s Cottage is now part of our story, and we sincerely hope to return someday, perhaps for an anniversary. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, romantic, and truly unique Hill Country getaway. Vernon & Maricar Married August 21, 2026 ❤️

Great hospitality

Appreciated the breakfast bread and accommodations were clean and lovely. Felt as comfortable as being home. The hosts are so thoughtful in providing amenities and the cottage was cozy and perfect for a weekend getaway. Great location, too!

Beautiful little spot in Dripping Springs

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this sweet cottage and will be back if we are in the area. The outdoor space was especially nice. We enjoyed sitting outside on the porch and down in the yard.

Great experience

The cottage had everything we needed from drinks and snacks to toothpaste. The best place we have stayed at in Dripping Springs. The grounds were beautiful and the location was perfect. We will definitely stay here again. Very comfortable accommodations.

Willie Mae Cabin is a very cute, historic property located in the heart of Dripping Springs, as a matter of fact the springs are just a short walk down from the front porch. This was our second stay at the cabin and we absolutely loved it! It is well-kept and the historic character gives it a lot of charm. It is located right in the middle of town but is still secluded enough to make it a very pleasant stay with a large backyard area including historic live oak trees, a swing and plenty of outdoor seating. The one downside of being located so close to town is that you do see the road from the front porch with some (not a lot) of traffic but you're far enough away where it is not a problem. Just don't expect a secluded cabin in the wilderness! :)

Close to everything

This great little property is walking distance to downtown shops and adjacent to the original Dripping Springs. Nice and quite end of street but so close to everything else the area has to offer. Loved the cottage feel

A getaway great spot!

Right on Mercer Street walking distance to good food, adult beverages and shopping. Great location for surrounding things to do in area. House has sound machine which was a plus. Nice breakfast basket for stay, fruit and breakfast bread banana nut and blueberry yum.

We were absolutely in love with the cottage and the location when we arrived. We were exactly where we wanted to be for our weekend getaway. The furniture, the lighting, the shower were all exactly as we hoped. Everything was clean, comfortablr, and convenient! We even took some time during our first evening to sit in the rocking chairs on the porch and talk in the cool night breeze. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency that required hospitalization for the remaining 2 nights/3 days we had booked. So we only had a full 24 hours on-site. But we are absolutely in love with it and hope to be able to come back for another attempted weekend away in this super gorgeous cottage!

great getaway weekend

Great clean cottage and lots of space. Overall a good experience but was a little surprised at the noise level from the Saturday night happenings close by in the small downtown area. I'm a light sleeper though, so can't really say it was anything close to a bad experience. The breakfast breads were delicious!
