Weekend Getaway
My friends and I attend ACL every year, always on the lookout for a quality property within walking distance of Zilker Park. This house was very unique with multiple floors, the master and guest bedrooms on the first two. The living area had a stocked kitchen with floor to ceiling windows showcasing amazing views of downtown Austin. Each floor had a balcony which was unexpected. There were plenty of bathrooms as well which is a must for our group. Overall one of the best properties weâve stayed in. Weâre hoping to book it for the festival next year!
The condo is probably 3 decades old and needs to be refurbished. The views of downtown Austin are amazing, especially from the terrace. But note that there are many, many stairs to get up to the condo and to move around within it.
We had a great stay. Mgmt was very good at response times when we needed something. You should be aware that there are lots of stairs at this property, both to access the front door and to get to the living area once inside. Anyone with any limitations should take that into consideration.
Girls trip. Loved the view from the deck. Spacious living and bedrooms as well. Would stay again if in the area.

Great views, wonderful location
This is our first time visiting Austin. We learned that it is a very walkable city and this condo was perfectly located! Just on the very edge of the happenings of downtown, so this means was quiet at night. But, so easy to get to everything. We didn't get a cab once. The views are wonderful day and night from the condo's living room as well as the very large patio. It is very close to a huge Whole Foods, great coffee shop, and couple of restaurants if you don't want to venture out sometime to look for food. We didn't cook in the kitchen although it seemed well equipped. The bedrooms were comfortable, however difficult to (we actually never did) figure out heating for the guest bedroom. Lots of living room seating and areas to lounge, laundry in the unit was also nice to have. We would definitely recommend the condo and would stay there again should we return to visit Austin.

So many great things!
We loved the location, the charming space, the outside patio, the view of the city and the comfy beds. Unfortunately, as mentioned in previous reviews, the condo needs some simple (and maybe not so simple?) maintenance. The keyless entry code was not working. It took 3-4 phone conversations (not always nice) before we were told to use the key. While that was our option to enter the property the entire lock system was pretty temperamental and required plenty of patience to use. Several other simpler things like toilet seat unhinged, towel bar falling out, dishes not clean, and dirty balcony were inconveniences. Fortunately we were a pretty handy group and repaired several things on our own. đ. All in all we still really loved staying here and would return. There are a lot of steps, but fortunately that wasnât a problem for us.
The unit is cute and was laid out perfectly for our group's needs. We loved the space and balconies. However, the 2nd bedroom is stuffy with air conditioning issues. It is obviously a known problem because the room has a portable air conditioning unit. Unfortunately, it did not help to keep the room cool. The air conditioning for the main bedroom also went out on our last night. There is a sign that says not to set the unit below 65Âș or it will freeze up. We had it set at 71Âș, so that was not the problem. Because we did not discover that it was broken until late in the evening (11ish) and we were leaving early the next morning, we chose to email the property manager instead of calling. We also emailed about a lost earring the next morning after we checked out. Neither has been acknowledged, and it's been 24 hours since we checked out. If the unit is owned by an individual, I hope they know the management company is falling short.
The truth. This property has NOT been well maintained. The views are AMAZING! The location is AMAZING! The cleanliness is fine, the beds are fine, the showers are fine, the fridge works and we didn't try the TV's. Please know if that is all you care about go for it and you will be fine. Truly. But PLEASE READ if you are unable to go up and down A LOT of stairs do NOT rent this place. Up at least 3 flights of stairs with your luggage to front door and inside another three flights of stairs to kitchen and living room. It is like a tree house. I could not see some people being able to safely manage the stairs - older people or younger kids. MAIN ISSUES - the door locks are basically inoperable. Front door can't be opened with key pad. Had to call to get key lockbox code. Used key to open but every single time what to work very hard to get key out. Backdoor that opens to parking garage had NO working lock at all! Had to move two large tables in front of door for three women to be there safely. Unacceptable. I could get over many lights that are burned out, fans that don't work, sink that doesn't drain, running toilet, cockroaches in bathroom, ants in living room, stained furniture....those things can be managed. But I can't get over the safety issues of the door locks. Literally no working lock to backdoor. And front door lock is almost unusable. All this owner needs to do is hire a locksmith, exterminator, plumber, and handyman for a few hours and this could be a steller rental
This is a second draft of this review because VRBO rejected the first, saying that my draft âneeded some workâ before it could be posted. As a published author, wellâŠ. I'll bite my tongue after VRBO provided the redirection that might be expected of a third grade English teacher to a student whose homework fell short. It is VRBO that falls short in this case.
Our booking at this property was cancelled well in advance of the starting date. The property owner acknowledged as much and responded appropriately, issuing a full refund as per terms of our booking agreement. I have no complaints, except to share that VRBO was clueless about the changes. So here I am, responding to VRBOâs request to review a property that I never laid eyes on. The property appears to be amazing, otherwise I wouldn't have booked it. But I can't give full affirmation of my star reviews of a property that I haven't laid eyes on. In short, ? stars (probably deserving of 5) for the property and 0 (that's ZERO) stars for VRBO for their cluelessness.
If youâre reading this, you are probably familiar with the absurdity of the Yes/No question âhave you stopped beating your wife yet?â Yet VRBO now requires 1-5 star ratings about an unseen condo in order for me to post my feedback about them⊠equally absurd. Iâm trying to point out that VRBO and this propertyâs manager are out of touch. Instead of being acknowledged for having done so, Iâm sent to the corner, to don a dunce cap and rewrite a review. I doubt this will get posted, but if you are reading this- I wouldn't hesitate to use VRBO service. Nothing is perfect. As a former Austinite now living elsewhere, I can assure anyone- this property is in a perfect location for indulging in all that Austin has to offer.

Great location, comfy space and beds; only downsize is a lot of stairs.
It was our second stay at this condo. The location is ideal. Close to all the fun spots on West 5th. Pecan Square was great. The condo has a wonderful view of the city. Exterior is not attractive but the inside is spacious and comfortable.. Itâs not new but well kept. It has everything you would need. Kitchen is well stocked but you will need spices and condiments. Itâs our â go toâ place when available. Would highly recommend.

Lots of stairs and you have to climb the driveway if you come from the sidewalk.
We only received automated messages; the host never responded to any questions, but none of those were critical ( we asked if we could check in early and there was never a yes/no response). The host looks to be a large company with many properties.

Great location and nightlife
This condo is in a great location relative to bars and nightlife. We found the Whole Foods about 2 blocks away which was very convenient. The beds were very comfortable as was the living area. We really enjoyed hanging out on the deck, but it was not cleaned prior to our arrival. There was dirt on the tile floor and the table had a layer of dirt/dust. The place needs to be cleaned better. The coffee maker was not emptied of the prior parties coffee grounds prior to our arrival. Also, I asked for an early check in and the property manager did not respond to my email until 2 days after i arrived home. Overall, I can overlook those things due to the location being good.
