The Boat House - Rustic Luxury in Matakana

Discover a unique rustic-luxe escape, just 10 minutes from Matakana, on the Tawharanui Peninsula. The Boat House comfortably sleeps four with a loft bedroom and charming shepherd’s hut. Enjoy elevated open-plan living with cathedral ceilings and skylights. Relax on the north-facing deck, taking in stunning views of majestic Mt Tamahunga. Summer deck haven; winter cozy by the wood burner. This private adjacent dwelling offers a truly special retreat.

The Boat House boasts generous spaces with high vaulted ceilings and large doors opening out to both the north and the west. It is filled with natural light all day, and can be cozy and warm with the wood burning fire place roaring at night.

There are two queens bedrooms. One located inside the Bat House on the mezannine floor, the second located in a detached custom built sheperds hut, only 10 feet from the main Boat House.

Guests of the Bluestone Boat House have private access to the surrounding area, with outdoors seating and fire pit.

Access to the main estate`s areas and amenities is restricted unless organised with the Guest Relations Manager.

Bluestone Boat House is located just 10 minutes from the centre of the Matakana Village, Omaha Beach and Tawharanui Marine Reserve.

It is privately surrounded by rolling hills, with views of Mount Tamahanga to the north and the entrance to the Sandspit Estuary.

The Estate is extremely private, but also close to all the action of the area

You have your own private car park for two cars. Although we have local taxi companies, we do recommend bringing your own car to this area as the taxi service can be booked in advance. There is a public bus service, but done not go past the Boat House.

The Boat House is part of the larger Bluestone Estate. Boat House guests are not permitted access to the rest of the estate and its amenities without prior approval from the Guest Relations Manager.

Please contact the Guest Relations Manager if you would like to access other areas of the Estate. Permission may only be granted if there are no other guests on site.
