"The hotel was very clean and absolutely wonderful to stay in. It has a mini kitchen in the lobby that is useful for heating up food and provides utensils. The rooms looked very beautiful and was functional. Next to the hotel is a rest stop that had a local market and restaurant that you can reach easily from the hotel's back door. Overall, a great place to stay."

"We opted to include the half board meals (dinner and breakfast) which was an excellent choice. Dinner was amazing with so many delightful Japanese dishes that were beautifully presented. We didnโ€™t think we could finish it all but we managed! The hot spring included the large main bath, outdoor, bubble, waterfall, and the cold baths as well as two types of saunas. Playing table tennis in yukata was also fun. We are glad we stayed here."

"Our stay was an absolute pleasure, a truly authentic Japanese countryside retreat. Nestled on the outskirts of a small village in Kyushuโ€™s breathtaking rural landscape, the property offers a peaceful and experience. Our traditional Japanese-style room overlooked a beautiful garden, with a stream flowing just beyond it. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond throughout our stay to ensure we were comfortable and relaxed. We chose to have both breakfast and dinner in our room, though meals can also be taken in the communal dining area. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious, and the team was happy to accommodate some food restrictions. The rooms do not have private showers, but the property features four private onsens, each with its own unique character, where you can enjoy a soothing volcanic hot bath followed by a shower in complete privacy. The rooms themselves are spacious, and designed for relaxation, sleeping on comfortable futons that are set up by the team after dinner. With Mt. Aso and the surrounding parks just a short drive away, this is the perfect base for exploring nature, slowing down and recharging."

"Liked: Large rooms Did not like: Rigid dining schedule. Food, while plentiful and tasty, was served at a fast pace as the time available for dinner is limited. Private onsen not worthwhile -- water very hot and space cramped. No after dinner option to socialize. Bar very limited and closes (hard close) at 9 pm. Upon asking what people do in the evening we were told-- Onsen (bathe)! It is not everyone's preference to take a hot bath after dinner."

"It was the perfect gateway into our Ryokan/onsen experience with beautiful & spacious accommodations in a super private and relaxing setting. Having our own onsen with view of the mountains was an absolute dream after a week in the big cities. The attentive staff were exceptional and brought dinner to our room that we cooked over the coals for a unique experience. Overall an incredible retreat to come back to after a busy day of onsen hopping. Truly a first class experience!"

"Clean and spacious traditional style room. Toilet was somehow a bit too small though, not particularly comfortable to use. Basin (for hand washing after using toilet) was then on the other side of the room which was a bit inconvenient. Hot spring facilities were at a different building (much newer and modern) which were 2 mins walk away. That was a slight problem when it was raining heavily when we were there. Parking was not great for our bigger car (RAV4 size type SUV). Tight space and lot of guests made parking very difficult. During golden week, when we stayed there, dining options at night were very limited in nearby regions."
