The Lookerer by Bloom Stays - a rural shepherds hut with amazing views!

The Lookerer offers a shepherds hut experience like no other! Offering cosy accommodation for 2, set in the most wonderful of locations on the Romney Marsh amongst nature and fields of lambs and sheep. This really is a place to unwind, relax and switch off..... There is also so much to see and do on your doorstep, countryside walks galore and if you fancy a trip to the coast the wonderful sandy beach of Dymchurch is only 10 minutes drive. You really must stay here to believe it's tranquility!

Private parking for 1 car

The hut is heated via the wood burning stove and an electric radiator

Towels and linen are provided, as well as bath robes and slippers
A starter supply of logs is provided, further logs available at a cost of £5 per sack
If you would like a locally sourced breakfast box which comprises of 4 x bacon rashers,4 x sausages, 4 x eggs, 1 x small loaf of bread please request this with your booking. There is an additional cost of £15.
Included with every stay is tea, coffee, jam & marmalade and a bottle of wine, all from local businesses.
Unfortunately due to the surrounding sheep dogs are not permitted.
​Please note check in is 3pm and check out is 10am.

We recommend you bring the following:
All weather clothes – for the cooler evenings around the fire pit
Wellies – the fields can get muddy!

Amazing stay

What an amazing stay very cosy and welcoming, everything you need is provided. I stayed for one night with my fiancé but could have been there for longer it feels so like home, the bbq/fire makes this place even more special to be outdoors, lenny the sheep is very friendly but the only one who likes any kind of attention the other sheep keep their distance, the chickens joined us in the morning what an unforgettable Experience we will be returning 100% , we also checked out the Christmas market recommended from the owner and it was great for something to do the following day with lots of handmade stuff to buy

Cute and comfy!

We loved our short stay. The shepherds hut was so sweet and had everything we needed for a comfortable night. It was really peaceful and quiet, and we were surrounded by nature, it was perfect.

A delightful night in Lookerer

This was a charming shepherd's hut in the beautiful Kent countryside. The Hut was thoughtfully decorated with everything you need for a luxury stay. The bed was very comfortable. We ordered the BBQ pack and this was great value. We would definitely recommend

Lovely weekend stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in the Lookerer hut last weekend. The hut was equipped with everything you could need and it was immaculate! The location was great, with the beach just a short drive away. It was also lovely having friendly sheep neighbours! We would definitely visit again :)

Lovely location, the view over the Marsh was fascinating.It was also nice to be near the sheep and lambs.The hut was delightful and clean. I could have done with some instructions for the heater and the coffee maker.However we managed and I would like to stay in the Lookerer again

Wonderful!

A wonderful base from which to relax, restore and explore. Very well appointed and full of thoughtful details - everything you might possibly need. Great stay in beautiful surroundings!

Lovely one night stay and a beautiful setting. Super cosy! We would have loved a later check out rather than 10am as we felt quite rushed to leave. We didn’t have anything to put our dirty linen in but everything else was just perfect!!

Absolutely fabulous

Such a fantastic break, the Shepherds Hut is perfect, very comfortable and so much attention to detail, it is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Kristina was a fabulous host and I was privileged to be able to feed the baby lambs - such an incredible experience. We will definitely be booking again.

A very peaceful and relaxing break

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shepherds hut, firstly the location is perfect with far reaching views across the countryside. The shepherds hut was very comfortable and provided everything we needed with some thoughtful extra touches from the owner. Apart from simply unwinding with a good book and making use of the fire pit outside, the shepherds huts are in a good location to enjoy the coast and countryside, lots of walks and good pubs to stop at in the area. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.

Super short stay!

Fantastic location, really comfy bed, we would definitely stay again! We had a few questions and they got back to us in an instant. Most importantly is that it’s one of the most beautiful parts of the marsh and you’re right in the middle of it! You can almost smell the smugglers groaning as they carry their loot through the soggy channels.

Great Place

Great place right in the middle of a field fall off sheep(although they cleared of next day and were seen only in the distance) the new born lambs were in barn and you could feed them plus Larry the lamb was very vocal when you went near and wanted moof bottle.The sheperds hut very good every thing you would need and more plus the staff couldn't have been more helpful.Plenty to do round about although I had trouble contacingt the Jeep safari people they didn't reply when I tried to contact them(twice). All in all a great little break!!

Lovely Shepherd's Hut, in a beautiful location, quiet with stunning views. Lovely stay in a shepherds hut

Thank you for a lovely stay! The view was very special with the sun rising/setting over the fields. The sheep were in the same field and around us lots of the time which was lovely. We had a nice walk around the field, The shepherds hut was very special, clean and beautiful. We cooked breakfast in the morning on the hob. We had wood for the fire pit and it was nice and warm in the shepherds hut. Thank you for a very special stay Kristina and for letting us stay a little longer!

Great weekend

We rented the 2 huts that are close together yet retain perfect privacy. We had a great weekend enjoying glorious sunshine and torrential rain. How nice to be so warm and snug and listen to that rain! There was room to enjoy supper together in one hut and then traipse home the 15 steps to our own abode. Stunning views, gorgeous sheep and the sea nearby. Perfection. Thank you.

Perfect little get away

We really enjoyed our stay at The Romney Marsh huts from start to finish - I fact we didn’t want to leave. The huts are very cosy and have everything you need in them. No need to take anything except clothes! And a few of your fave toiletries but even some of those are supplied - Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash and body lotion. We had a mixture of weather over the whole weekend - even the rain didn’t ruin our stay as we made the most of the huts by putting the fire on and looking out over the fields to the amazing view while the rain came down. Soon as the rain stopped we went for a lovely walk in the surrounding area. Perfect little get away. Will definitely return.
