We had a great time at the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting around the fire. The property is very peaceful and remote. The inside is spacious and was perfect for our group!
Lots of beds and cozy living area. Great amenities. Fire pit and large hot tub made the experience extra amazing. Would come back! Host Liz was extremely easy to get a hold of and to work with. Great host!
This property was the perfect place for our girls getaway to the Asheville NC area. The cabin was incredible, even more beautiful than the VRBO photos. We could not have been happier with our experience, and we highly recommend Lazy Bear Lodge to anyone who wants a beautiful, quiet oasis where they can unplug from the bustle of life and recharge.
Fantastic property and accommodating, very nice, and flexible hosts. The fire pit and back porch areas were the family favorites. The surrounding trees are beautiful. Only minor notes are that it is really 3 bedrooms, one with an attached sleeping bunk loft. While there are other sleeping areas in the house, they aren’t true bedrooms. The road in was also a bit of a surprise as it is a bumpy gravel road, we were ok with this, but one family member had a nicer sedan that they were nervous about driving on the road with. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.
The location of the cabin is very remote which is great for a peaceful, quiet get away; it is only 20 minute drive to ashville! The kitchen had everything we needed and the hot tub and fire pit was the perfect ending to every evening. Truly is a perfect cabin for a friend get away or family vacation!
The host was quick to respond with any questions.
Our ladies book club takes an annual trip to a different location each year, featuring places we’ve read books about. This year we chose Asheville and the cabin in Leicester was a perfect place for us! Convenient but also quiet. The home was well stocked and had lots of amenities. We would definitely recommend to others and stay there again!
This cabin is gorgeous! The details in all the rooms are so fun and interesting. Beds were very comfortable, and it is spotless. The owner landscaped before our visit and the gardens were very pretty. 15 min drive to Asheville. The Ingles grocery store is 5 minutes away is huge and has everything you may need. The owners were prompt with a hot tub issue and came right over to fix it. I can't say enough about this beautiful property. Book it today, Asheville is back!!
The place is wonderful on so many levels. It's very secluded and private. The kitchen is stocked full of everything you need to cook for many families. We had a few minor issues, but the host was communicative, fixed the issues, and issued us some compensation for our troubles. We will be back!
The cabin was a great place to stay for our long weekend in Asheville. It accommodated our 10 person group very well. The outdoor fireplace/hot tub was the perfect place for everyone to gather and relax in the evenings, it’s truly a great setup. The kitchen/dining/living room area is also great for a crowd, plenty of space. We drank coffee on the deck overlooking the woods each morning. The road to get to the cabin is a little tricky, but nothing unmanageable - 20 minute drive to Asheville.
I don't know where to start, this place is more beautiful in person, the pictures do not do enough for this place. The place was clean and well kept. We had 10 guest and it was just perfect. The cabin was a short drive to Asheville and uber was used also. If you have a large group, this is definitely the place for you. It is secluded and the outdoor area was spectacular. The hot tub was a plus. The owner will respond if you need. The kitchen had everything you will need and more. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Liz for your place, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselved and Asheville! Compliments
Our stay at the Lazy Bear was above and beyond ❤️❤️
Liz was absolutely amazing and easy to work with. Liz set up pack and play for the baby and double checked everything before we arrived and she always got back to me with answers immediately. Place is cozy but yet big enough for our family and grandkids.
The outdoor living was my favorite. Swing on back deck was my favorite it is like a twin bed with a slow glide. Front yard was flat to play games, hot tub with high top table to hang around, firepit was beautifully set up. I think we enjoyed every piece of the place. We found a karaoke machine in the closet, talk about fun 🤣. We struggled leaving the place it felt like a resort, we could have not left the entire weekend.
We would definitely come back here again next time but we might need more bedrooms, it will definitely be hard to find something this nice ❤️❤️
Our group of eight from Alabama, South Dakota, Oregon, North Carolina, and Tennessee spent seven wonderful days at the lazy Bear Lodge. We absolutely loved our time on site and rated our stay five plus. The lazy bear is very comfortable for a group of our size and offered amenities that helped us to reconnect immediately. Most of us had not seen each other for nearly 6 years. There's an outdoor fire pit that is close by yet far enough away to view the evening stars and moonlight a hot tub nearby to close out the evening or to wake up as the sun leans over the mountains. And then there's an open floor plan with a large kitchen on the first floor and plenty of area for a group to prepare a feast and enjoy one another's company. The site is private secluded beautiful inside and outside, providing close access to local stores as well as major outdoor recreational venues in the Appalachian mountain range and in Asheville itself beginning with a Riverwalk art district. Thank you for helping make our time so special !plus.plus
Our two families (4 adults, 5 kids ages 6-14) had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend at the cabin. The indoor space was comfortable and cozy. The cabin was well stocked with hand and dish soaps, towels, extra blankets and bedding. The kids liked the various games and books to keep entertained. The outdoor space was especially great. The hot tub is very large with an outdoor table for dining and a fantastic fire pit. We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoor setup. A grill out there would have been even better. It did storm one late afternoon and the power went out. Huge branches had fallen onto the road, but communication was good and assistance was provided. Be aware the cabin is near the end of a longer one-lane drive that many homes share. We had a few instances of configuring to allow other vehicles getting through. There isn’t much around the Leicester area, but Ingles for groceries was about a 10 minute drive. Going to downtown Asheville took about 25-30 minutes. Trails and breweries were closer to 20 minutes. Overall, we had a fun time and enjoyed the property.
Beautiful cabin, spacious for family and gorgeous views from the porch. We loved seeing the deer passing through the woods during the day. Only complaint was the heating situation was inconsistent, some parts of the house were significantly colder than the other. Hard to get a consistent temperature. Otherwise we had a great time!
Overall was a great stay. Outdoor space was great and house interior was good. There are only three actual bedrooms and a loft. It worked for our group but on the site lists 6 bedrooms and that’s inaccurate. But it’s still a great 3 bedroom and loft house. Great kid space in and out.
