"Yes there is a bumpy 15 minute ride from the main road but the pay off is a tranquil environment to relax at Kili Villa. Our room had a lovely outlook to the gardens where local fauna and birds did their thing. The staff were welcoming and courteous, and the food was delicious. Perhaps the experience could have been improved with better communication about food and drink options when we arrived (with an explanation card). There are no other options for F&B in the area (aside from the golf club)...

"The views of Mt Meru and the surrounding bush country were magnificent. The grounds include banana, papaya, mango, pineapple and avocado plants/trees, all of which enhance the experience.
The staff were extremely attentive and polite. All speak English. We loved the food so much my wife wanted to bring the chef home (joking of course, but high praise). The lodge staff were trained as part of a program to provide a good livelihood to local residents who otherwise would have limited...

"The hotel has significant grounds around it and there are lots of birds. It is just outside Arusha and so much quieter and clean air, there is a lawn and pool and tables to relax and socialize while taking in a great view of Mt Meru and all the birds. The staff are all so so happy and friendly and the place is kept immaculate, with cleaning and gardening work. The food was also excellent - flavourful and well prepared. There were locals coming on weekends for family celebrations. The...

"Not as shown in pictures.
Low key creepy… There was no free airport pickup (as suggested)—we had to pay. No running water, no toilet seat, bugs in the sink, no electrical outlets and very cold.
We were also asked to pay twice.
On the positive they fed us a nice breakfast. "

"Our stay at Gran Meliá Arusha was simply outstanding and far exceeded everything we could have imagined. From the very first moment, the hotel impressed us with its elegance, tranquility, and breathtaking natural setting.
We were lucky to stay in a room with stunning views of Mount Meru, waking up every morning to an absolutely magical landscape. The infinity pool is spectacular, perfectly integrated into the surroundings and ideal for relaxing after a day of adventures. The gardens are lush, impeccably maintained, and simply beautiful, creating a peaceful oasis that makes you forget the outside world.
But what truly made our experience extraordinary was the exceptional level of personalized service, especially from Daniel Ramos, Guest Experience Manager. His dedication went far beyond what anyone could expect. When I lost a personal object that seemed almost impossible to recover, Daniel did not stop until he found it. His effort, persistence, and genuine care turned a stressful situation into a story with a perfect ending. This level of attention and humanity is rare to find and made us feel truly valued as guests.
Gran Meliá Arusha is not just a luxury hotel with stunning facilities—it is a place where people truly make the difference. We will forever be grateful for this unforgettable experience and we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
We will definitely return.

"Very spacious spotless accommodation ; comfortable bed , all the facilities I needed, and beautiful views from the bedroom and from the rooftop bar and restaurant terrace. Professional and welcoming. "
"Friendly staff and delicious food. Room was lovely and spacious. Airport shuttle was comfortable and very prompt. Only negative was that there were not enough loungers at the pool."
"Great stay right in the centre of Arusha. Very good value for money. Great breakfast. Very comfortable room and good shower. Warm and friendly staff. Will stay again."
"Well-priced rooms with all the amenities that a weary traveler could ask for. Breakfast was varied and delicious, the grounds are lovely and it is a very safe environment. Staff were very friendly and went above and beyond when we had a later arrval than anticipated! Would definitely stay there again!"
"I stayed at Mount Meru Game Lodge before embarking on a 2-week safari and after 24 hours in the air. It was a wonderful place to unwind and sleep well before the trip. The location was convenient, the staff very friendly and helpful, the price was fair, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the setting was special having been a former sanctuary for game animals. Also, there was an onsite massage spa which was excellent."
