"I mention names of employees here, hoping they do get recognition,--nobody solicited me for this review. I stayed at this hotel for five days and was pleasantly surprised by how much it offered, especially for the price. While the building is older, it’s very well maintained, and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds, crisp white sheets, and towels. I had one of the more affordable rooms, but the large east-facing windows offered stunning views of the city and mountains. If you do nothing else, visit the rooftop pool and restobar on the 10th floor—even if you’re staying elsewhere. The views, breeze, and relaxed atmosphere make it a destination. The staff up there were exceptional—shoutout to Andre, Made, Upay, Rhe, and Bhuda. Friendly, honest, and passionate about what they do. I even met the GM and the Chef on two occasions—not drinking, but personally checking in on guests, which says a lot about their commitment. Breakfast is worth including in your booking. There's a wide selection, an outdoor smoking area, and a relaxed setting. The Wi-Fi worked seamlessly for five days straight without needing to log in repeatedly, which is rare. Security was strong and consistent, giving me peace of mind during my stay. A big plus was the list of recommended local restaurants provided at check-in—extensive menus, great food, and nearby. Ironically, the service at those restaurants didn’t match the high-quality service I got at the hotel. Location-wise: Great"

"Beautiful and interesting home with different areas and a little courtyard inside. Carvings and tiles. They had an old radio, record player etc. wonderful if you want to see an old Kotagede type house from the inside. There's a bookshop attached to the house and it has a good selection of books, including Indonesian books translates into English, a section on Javanese culture, and political books like Gramsci etc. Location is good near lots of nice restaurants, walkable to the Mataram makams, and you can also walk around and see some kampongs in the area and there's cute coffeeshops with very affordable single origin coffee pours (affordable compared to eg. Jakarta and Bandung). My room had a four poster bed. The vibe was that of staying in a old relative's house, including the furniture and lamp style, TV with no netflix (they have cable) that's turned off at the base, and one thing to note is the room had only one other plug point and it's high up on the wall so you have to sit on a chair when you use your phone if you're charging it. Aircon was good. Lots of towels. I had to leave very early for my flight the next day and they packed me a full breakfast, which was super nice of them."

"The bed was super comfy, the pool was nice and the location was perfect, near many restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were very kind and the breakfast had lots of options! "

"Staying 2 night at this hotel, I wouldn't expected much really, what I expected was comfortable sleep, but that seem impossible, because right cross of the road, there were a cafe or a club that play music very loud until 2am. If you like quiet place avoid to stay in this hotel. I know it's not the hotel faults, but I wouldn't recommended for people's who like to stay in the quiet environment. But for people's who like hang out, and partying, there are few cafe and bars around the area, some with live entertainment. The room was basic, it appears look like use to be an office, according the room door. The swimming pool look good, but unfortunately I didn't have have time to try it. And there was no breakfast facility or tea or coffee making."
