Stunning Log Cabin with amazing views at Apple Canyon Lake, Perfect Location

Welcome to our cabin we call “Irish Hollow”. One of the oldest and original cabins at the lake. This cabin was hand built by a father and son in the earliest days of Apple Canyon Lake. This log cabin is as authentic as it gets. Immediately feel relaxed as you pamper yourself in luxury. The main floor master is absolutely amazing. The main floor bath has a jacuzzi tub, heated floors, and a wonderful shower.

This cabin literally feels like it was plucked from Ireland's countryside and placed so gently where it rests. We hope you enjoy our cabin with your family and friends as much as we do.

We absolutely love that we are located close to everything. You are just a couple blocks from the sports complex, pool, marina, cove restaurant, golf course, club house, and hiking path. Further away, the waterfall is a pretty sight to see and a great back drop for pictures. Across from the dam and waterfall is Harold Batham nature trail, walking only. Great place for a family walk. Please view framed map for beach and other attractions.

Nice front deck for visiting with friends and family. Sit around the campfire at night, located in the back yard. Extra spacious lot next door for playing games. Trail close to property for walking/hiking. You will have access to lake amenities, pool and beach, with tags provided. Lower level has sleeper sofa and T.V.

We try to supply some firewood for our guests as a perk, but it is not guaranteed. T.V. is dish network. Internet is Fiber-link (250 Mbps), usually very good, but in the rolling hills of Apple River Canyon, at times it is not, so make appropriate plans if this is a must.

The charming town of Galena only 15 miles away. Small towns in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin within a 20 minute drive. Wisconsin is only 10 miles to the north.

Apple Canyon State Park, 10 miles away. Very nice scenic views. Multiple hiking paths. Worth your visit if you like the outdoors.

Don't feel like cooking every meal. One of our favorites, Old School Saloon, Scales Mound IL, 6 miles away. Excellent pizza and sandwiches. They have a 4.8 star rating for a reason. Need delivery, Thriving Thistle Market in Apple River delivers. Their sandwiches are excellent. Pizza is good. You can dine in as well.

Wonderful little town of Shullsburg, Wisconsin. (established in 1827, one of the oldest in Wisconsin) only 13 miles to the north. The restaurants in this small town are second to none. You won't be disappointed. We love visiting this small town.

We have other hidden gems that we recommend and share with our guests upon check in, including "Gravity Hill", 12 miles to the north in Wisconsin, you will be laughing as you roll backwards, up hill???

No Smoking, No parties, no bachelor or bachelorette parties. Sorry, no pets. Maximum guests 6. Minimum age of primary renter is 25.

We cannot lock in dates until deposit is received. Same date requests will be given to the first person securing it with a deposit. Three night stays are required during holiday weekends.

Check in is 4:00 p.m.. Check out is 11:00 a.m.

Nice weekend getaway

We had a nice stay at this property. The listing was pretty accurate. Access to the lake community ammenities is very convenient. We enjoyed the Club House and the Cove restaurant. Hosts were responsive and helpful with their suggestions for the area.

Great Cabin!

My family of 5 stayed here for a ski trip at Chestnut Mountain and shopping in Galena. Plenty of room and a true cabin feel! Would highly recommend!

The cabin at Apple lake was very cozy, it’s a beautiful cabin and the area was so nice and quiet, it’s a great spot to just unwind and relax, we enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time in this cabin. The fireplace was great. The cabin is very cute! The location is perfect for stargazing. We even saw the atlas comet. Galena is just a short drive away. The state park is even closer. This is a great place for relaxing.

It was a great stay, the whole house was beautifully decorated and was clean. I am glad that we booked the propety, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet and relaxing trip! Close to Galena, Iowa, Wisconsin, and not too far from Chicago.

Great getaway

The Cabin was beautiful and the country side with its rolling hills the cattle the trees and wild life was all great! The cabin was very clean and the hosts were great people and very helpful when needed. I went there on a quick getaway for my wife and I and we loved it all! Wineries, restaurants in Galena stores all within miles and minutes. Worth every penny

Retired couples get away

Really fun weekend! Great location for many different things to do. Owners are great to work with. Cabin is nice. Very peaceful! Make sure you bring everything because it is not stock except with toilet paper, paper towels and 2 dishwashing pads which was plenty. No coffee filters or Kleenex. You will enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay at the log cabin. The accommodations were as advertised. The owners were very responsive to questions. The exterior of the property needed its spring cleanup and then it would have looked like the photos. The screen was torn out of the back entry to the porch. There was hair in the main floor sheets. We really liked sitting on the porch and even got a visit from a fox on our last morning!

Absolutely amazing..my wife loved everything about this adorable cabin. It was clean..the decor was perfect..kitchen was well stocked with whatever ur gonna need to cook with. The grill worked lol..the fire pit in the back was so relaxing. The swing on the front porch and the tire swing..my wife absolutely loved both. Master bedrooms bed was comfy..ummmm..the heated floor in the bathroom..YES PLEASE! The only thing that was missing was sun blocking drapes in the bedroom..we fixed that problem with the extra blankets in the house..and no window treatments in the family room..again..problem was solved with sheets! We will be stay here again!!

Irish Hollow - cabin

Excellent cabin. Visited Apple Canyon, the Cove Restaurant, Mineral Point, Wisconsin, and Galena, IL. The Cabin is Roomy, charming, full kitchen. Stairs to cabin and in-cabin, difficult if not fully able bodied. VRBO description is very accurate. Be prepare to drive winding roads, to/from property, but all blacktop roads. Great fun, great price for the accommodations. Great large porch, Room for the whole family. A place for a bonfire and s'more in backyard. Thriving Thistle restaurant great place for dinner, ice cream, and gasoline for the car. Take Stagecoach Road to Galena. Blacksmith shop and US Grant home worth the trip.

Cozy and Beautiful

My husband and I enjoyed everything about this cabin and our first experience on Apple Canyon Lake! Couldn’t have asked for a better 5 year anniversary trip. We were pleasantly surprised by how well the cabin was stocked for things. The furniture throughout was comfortable. We cooked most of our meals here, and made use of the grill. While we didn’t make use of the great list the hosts provided of restaurants. The country store they recommend in Scales Mound had wonderful steaks, and was close to the cabin! The amenities of the cabin were wonderful. Even though we visited at the beginning of off season, there was so much to do and see! The only problem with our stay is we wished we would have stayed longer to enjoy it all. We are hoping to plan a trip here again closer to summer, and bring our kiddos with! They would have loved it here. Thank you so much Phil and Mia for having us!
