You can browse a wide offering of accommodation choices with Member Prices to score great deals and earn rewards. Take a look at the Bundle and Save holiday packages and discover big savings by booking transport at the same time.
When is the best time for a budget trip to Ao?
Weather will likely play an important role when you plan your trip to Ao, but bear in mind that cheaper options are usually available when the weather isn't as good. The hottest months are usually August and July, with an average temperature of 23°C, while the coldest months are January and February, with an average of 5°C. The rainiest months in Ao are July, September, August and December, with each month seeing an average of 296 mm of rainfall.
What is there to see and do in Ao?
You don't need to spend big to take advantage of things to see and do in Ao. You can budget for the top local attractions on your list, and then make time for activities that cost little or nothing at all. Check out the area's cultural spots like Himi City Museum and Izumi City Shinminato Museum, or hunt for bargains with some shopping at Himi Banya-gai Harbour Market.
How can I get to Ao and get around on a budget?
Scoping out the transportation options in Ao is a smart way to keep your trip affordable. The closest airport is 20.1 mi (32.3 km) from the centre in Toyama (TOY). However, if that doesn't suit your budget, you can look into flights to Wajima (NTQ-Noto), which is 28.3 mi (45.6 km) away. Ao might not have many public transport choices so a rental car could be a reasonable alternative to see more of the area.
