The property, while fully modern, was decorated to give the impression of a "colonial"-era facility. The rooms are large, comfortably furnished and well lit. They are well maintained and clean. A couple of amenities could have enhanced the experience: a small fridge, coffee maker or even a kettle (and mugs). The hotel is 4 long blocks south of the Plaza - a bit of a walk but also isolated from downtown noise. (I stayed during the recent Semana Santa celebrations, and the place was peaceful and quiet throughout.) Breakf\ast was always good (off the somewhat limited menu) and served with panache. Also, staff were uniformly friendly, professional and helpful. Special thanks to Vicky and here colleague at reception who so patiently helped me sort out a taxi issue. Thanks to all.

First, I want to thanks VICTORIA for planning all my experiences she was friendly and helpful. Everyone was helpful, but not so friendly. Food was great. Personally what I miss in the room was AC or a fan. Other than that. Great experience.

Hotel Las Farolas is a great option for Antigua. It is on the south edge of town just a few blocks from Parque Central. It is quiet, safe, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot water was good and so was the water pressure. That is something that can be difficult to find in Guatemala. Staying here was a great experience.
