"Been going to Dundee Apex for many years, and it is a handy hotel for a night away for tired parents in need of time away from the chaos of balancing kids home and work. The main reason why we stay at this place is the swimming pool and sauna. We stayed in the middle of April but it was very busy - it was almost impossible to swim without bumping into people. This was after waiting for 30 min till the space became available, but it seems that a few people just ignored the queue and walked in (not that it was the staff’s fault but perhaps needs tighter management). The pool, the general look of the place suggests that it is perhaps time for a refurbishment and it is looking rather tired in places. The water was very white and cloudy and it was really had to see where I was going while swimming. As I sat in the sauna, I found it hard to bear the foul language from people who jumped the queue (from what I overheard they were members for the leisure facility). Every second word was a swear word. It wasn’t exactly a relaxing time that I hoped for. The bar seems under staffed and it was very hard to get someone to come and get an order for a very long time and as for settling the bill, I ended up walking into the restaurant area that was now being tidied up to get someone. The refreshment drink near the reception wasn’t replenished so nothing in the dispenser… it just felt like the management gave up trying. It is such a shame."
Stylish fisherman's cottage in heart of pretty harbour village, pet-friendly.
10/10 Excellent
"We loved our stay in St Monans and this property was the perfect spot. The kitchen worked well when we chose to eat in; we never were able to figure out how to operate the microwave, but the stove and oven worked fine for us. It was a bonus having the market next door and the Giddy Gannet across the street. We made use of the washing machine and were able to dry clothes on the rack over night. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom shower was very good. We enjoyed the eclectic decorating (I loved the tiles behind the cooktop!). The host was very responsive to questions. "
"Property is warm and staff were friendly. Had 1 meal at the hotel, was OK but nothing outstanding. Issues with all of the electric vehicle chargers need to be sorted out, number of vehicles could not charge due to chargers being out of use."

4/10 Poor
"First impression was the hotel looked very nice and upmarket
Gym pool facilities was really
Food was absolutely terrible haddock for a starter was uneditable due to over fried and dripping of grease
Piri chicken burger was good but was really spicy and the chip were horrible tasting
The room was looked good but there was a smell of damp
One of the beds was broken and the other side of the smelled of what I can only describe as bad feet
I tried talking to the guy at reception but made out he couldn’t understand me
Very poor experience
Room 136"
"The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The decor is a little tired in places in the room but we still had a great stay. The bed is very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast offered a great choice of cooked to order and continental. "
