This property was purchased recently and has been extensively renovated and upgraded since it was bought perhaps 2 years ago. There are wonderful antiques throughout although the Victorian-period chairs are on the low side, as such chairs are. There are some small things to be worked out, but on the whole this Inn is wonderful, with a caring, friendly and talented hostess. The breakfasts are great, and the Inn is an easy walk to "downtown" Annapolis Royal, with several excellent restaurants, bookstores, national parks and an excellent waterfront. And Annapolis Royal knows its coffee - I never had even a mediocre cup of joe!
Friendly, historic, comfortable, great hospitality!

While we enjoyed our stay, the house is very old and the owner is working to update the property. The bedrooms are nice, the bathrooms are ok, showers are very tiny and difficult to maneuver during a shower. There are no televisions and while the furniture includes many antiques. They are worn and in need of TLC. Breakfast was delicious and the tables were set with beautiful tea cups and china.
Good stay! It was a cute and quaint. Breakfast was great! They even took into account my dietary needs :)
The location is great just a short walk to downtown Annapolis Royal.

Rooms are small. That’s about all I would detract from this property. Annapolis itself is a virtual wonderland with tons of items, activities, arts and crafts, history and culture. The locals seem to all know each other. Quaint, cozy to the nth degree as was the Carlisle.
I liked: being greeted upon entering, complementary water and coffee station on the second floor, quiet, great breakfast, comfy bed.I didn’t like: insufficient bars of soap, no place to put it so it slid off the counter, hard to read the shampoo and conditioner, label worn off.
A beautiful building with amazing furniture。I wish that I i could have stayed longer so I could sit in the fabulous downstairs rooms.my bedroom was so lovely that I felt like just staying in it all the time.

Amazing accommodation! When we arrived the owner gave us a whole evening itinerary that included a great place for supper and an incredible candlelight graveyard tour. Room is beautiful and super clean. Will definitely be back!!
We enjoyed our two-night stay in this lovely B&B, which was recently renovated by the new owner. Our en suite room was nicely furnished, and very comfortable. The owner and her daughter are gracious hosts and offer a wonderful experience at this B&B. Breakfast was buffet style in a splendid dining room, and there was enough to satisfy us for the morning. WiFi connection was excellent. We highly recommend this B&B as a good choice in this area.
Lovely historic house close to points of interest (walking distance to most). Clean and quiet rooms. Staff were super nice and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding!
Staff at the inn were great. Very friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable about the area and activities that are going on.
The area is very friendly and helpful.

There is NO air conditioning.
The house is historical being about 150 years old it was beautiful and quite close to the time period in terms of furniture etc. However, on hotels.com it says this B & B has air conditioning. It DOES NOT have air conditioning. It was about 40 degrees Celsius for our two night stay and the heat, especially for people who come from an arid environment, proved challenging. We were given a window fan, however, it allowed for bugs to come in as there was no screen on the window. We ended up with about 25 mosquitoes in our room at night which made it hard to sleep. The second window had been painted shut, and even though we got it open, there was a glass pane that was impossible to open to allow for a comfortable cross wind. So unfortunately, I do not know whose error this air conditioning mishap was but it was detrimental to our overall impression.
Breakfast is fantastic. Owner is exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Location is great - short walk to downtown, Historical Gardens, and Fort Anne. Beds are great!
