"Check in was really bad. It closes at 1pm and you can only get your room at 2pm. A message was sent giving a code to get in the building & the same code to get your key from a safe box that has everyone's keys in envelopes. I asked for reserved parking well in advance but got no reply but assumed we had a space. Arrived with a full car & nowhere to park. Rang the emergency number and a guy turned up with keys to a nearby car park. He gave us keys but told us to park in the next bay. We locked the garage door & then could not get the car out again. Apartment was nice & good value for the money but freezer hadn't been defrosted & extractor hood cover fell off in your hand. The settee was uncomfortable because it didn't slot back together properly after I assume being used as a sofa bed. Pictures are misleading because the balcony shown on pictures is private to one of the apartments & not open to all. Having said that it was a nice apartment.Good location. Nice balcony & great views from the 6th floor. Would be a great base to explore Trieste. Nice & clean"

"We liked the size of the room, and it had a full kitchen we didn’t use since we only stayed for 1 night. The check in process is a little difficult, but didn’t take too long. All of the lights were off in the building when we arrived so we walked up the stairs using the flashlights on our phones. We were told to leave our keys in the room when we checked out, but 5 minutes before checkout time a lady, who we assume was the cleaner, came banging on the door demanding we get out and give her the key. That has lowered my rating for this stay. Overall, it is a good location for seeing Trieste!"

"You often find a 5 star hotel that is middle of the road, no better than a 4 star and completely different from 5 star in other countries. This hotel, the staff, the quality and experience are what I would call truly 5 star, actually traditionally excellent 5 star. There is nothing I would find to complain about. We had an outstanding stay which has reinvigorated my faith in service, facilities, and enjoyment. Will definitely be going back and I just wish others provided this level also."

"To begin with, GPS did not get us to the hotel. We drove round and round till we figured it out ourselves. First impressions of the hotel are cold, unattractive and uncared for in the lobby with horrible stained furniture and old carpet. The hallways were old and dark. The room was very basic but appeared clean and kept up. The bathroom had been renovated appropriately. Air conditioning was barely working which made the room unbearable. When brought up to female front desk staff we were told too bad, one system for the whole hotel, no remedy available. They were kind to bring us fans. The room was quiet and we slept well. We did not use the breakfast because we had to depart early."
