Extremely peaceful and idyllic place. The room was clean and looked new. The bed was comfy. Only downside was that the room was quite small and it was missing some functional additions (e.g hanger where to hang the towels). Also it would have been very helpful to have more detailed direction where to go. Once the boat dropped us off, there were no signs which way to go. It was a small walk in the jungle but first time quite confusing.
A lovely isolated spot ideal for getting away. The scenery and tranquility was just what I wanted. The food was excellent and very tasty, which is good as it’s a walk through the jungle to get to other restaurants. It’s a little harder to get to than the main town but if you are after a few days peace and relaxing it’s the place to go. They were so helpful even tracking us down in Rio to give back our phone which we had assumed lost. A big thank you again to Edwardo

Bom dia
Emplacement magnifique. Qualité exceptionnelle du service. Une destination à découvrir en couple.
À noter : vaccin contre la fièvre jaune fortement recommandé.
Pousada Lagamar is the perfect island getaway if you want a simple yet charming place that puts people first! The owners, Jorge and Rosalie do their upmost to make people feel comfortable and take the time to chat and show genuinely interest in their guests.
The place itself is bright, colorful and has character. It is right in the rainforest with view on the ocean, which is only a minute stroll away down the path to the beach.
There are a few options to eat on the beach and La Dolce Vita (sister property) became our go to hang out spot: great food and vibe, with extremely friendly and professional staff there too (Ezequiel, the manager, happens to be Jorge's son).
Rooms are pretty rustic, without AC, and mosquitoes won't leave you in peace. But it's also part of the charm of an island getaway and you won't spend much in your room anyway.
Note: there's no restaurant per se at Lagamar, so you will need to go to the beach for dinner.
The island itself has no cars or road and the only way to get around is by boat. Make sure to pack what you need in advance: mosquito spray, etc. You can hike to secluded beaches, caves, etc. It is extremely relaxing and ideal if you want to disconnect. Note: wifi is not that great.
If you fancy luxury and extreme comfort, Lagamar might not be for you, but we would definitely go back again for a getaway break and enjoy "the simple life". Thanks Jorge, Rosalie and Ezequiel!
The place seems that it came out from fairytale, with the rooms, restaurant and reception being built on the hills of the jungle while overlooking the beautiful ocean. Stuff are extremely friendly and helpful and although they may struggle a bit with English they are always very accommodating. I would definately go back and stay there.

A really relaxing stay away from it all. The pousada is set in the trees overlooking the bay. Very beautiful. It's a bit of a winding path from the harbour but the hotel staff were ready to meet us and carry our bags as we had brought way too many things with us. 5 or 6 local restaurants within walking distance and a secluded beach close by.. perfect for relaxing after our hectic sightseeing in Rio.
