Beautiful apartment in Amiens

This is a lovely apartment very well situated in the city. It is on the third floor of the building, so a lot of steps, but there are great views from the windows across to the Cathedral. The apartment is very tastefully refurbished with everything you could want for a stay in this lovely city. Thank you Jerome for making us feel so welcome.

We didn't get any instructions for access to the apartment, despite 3 requests, until the morning we left from our previous billet. Upon arrival of the location there wasn't a key to access the parking advertised with the property. We contacted the host only to be texted that the previous traveller hadn't returned all keys and as a result, our free parking wasn't available all 24hrs. We had the keys to apartment only & I'm not sure how I missed in the advertisement that the apartment it up 6 flights of stairs. Once we accessed the apartment we found that the toilet was unclean & it's cistern was broken. We'd also found a broken blind over one of the main windows & the lounge had torn coverings. After contact was made with the host, her husband attended the apartment and declared the toilet fixed. On our first night we had several of the windows open, only to find that a neighbour was a heavy cigarette smoker & the offensive smell required the closing of all windows. The apartment was warm, it has no air-conditioning, the bed linen was all synthetic which made for uncomfortable sleeping conditions. Most of the crockery was dirty. The dishwasher had a dreadful smell & hadn't been cleaned for a while so we washed & wiped all the glass & crockery. We've visited over 40 countries, stayed in over 500 rooms/apartments & this one is the only one we've ever left early & wished we'd never booked.
