Great, great room upgrade - thank you, loved the view! Emails prior to arrival from hotel as expected from previous stays never received (eg. % off drinks and / or food in bars and restaurant - fyi, we ALWAYS purchased the vouchers). When I queried why no emails were sent at front desk during check-in, two different members of staff tried to explain that it was to do with data protection laws (no, made no sense then or now) and I never got a coherent, logical answer despite several attempts at re-phrasing the question. Still one of my top 5 hotels in central London :-)

Amazing stay, everyone and everything was exceptional. The hotel has a history of opulence and luxury, and it did not disappoint, and the staff are the real heartbeat of this iconic hotel. "Air conditioning didn't work during 90° F heatwave and it was miserable. We had to buy a fan at a nearby grocery store because they said they didn't provide them over "health concerns." Maintenance told us the a/c didn't work because it was just an old system, so I would skip this place in the summer. ..."
