"We did not opt for the meal package so it’s possible we missed out on an amazing experience there but we did not miss out on the top level experience of the Kitanoya. Full Japanese ryokan room with the most
luxurious
2 person open air granite ofuro I have ever seen let alone enjoyed with a delightful garden beyond. We chose this place to unwind from the crowds of Kyoto and we could not have made a better choice. Service was impecable. Can I give it a 6? The hotel matches the incomparable...

Taikyourou

4.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (60)
"Lovely old ryokan by the river overlooking the turning bridge and the start of the Amanohasidate trail, right besides the Choin-ji. Staff who spoke little English were fabulous. The onside Onsen is small but nice. Room had minimal facilities but decent size. The half board breakfast and kaiseki dinners were high quality. Recommended."

Auberge Amanohashidate

2.5 star property
7.6 out of 10, Good, (262)
"A very comfortable stay and the location is everything! Very close to Amanohashidate station, easily 3 mins walk. The double room has its own toilet and bathroom ( together, a small one). I think there is no elevator, I had to bring my luggage on the stairs ( but i stayed on level 2). I had the breakfast with the room - most if not all are seafood and vegetarian dishes which i really enjoy."

Livemax Resort Yuhigaura Kitu Onsen

3.0 star property
7.4 out of 10, Good, (9)
"The hotel has been recently rebranded and is undergoing extensive renovations. The bits they've finished, like the rooms and the dining room, are new and shiny. The room itself was comfortable. It's close to the town, which has good izakaya and other options if you're not on a meal plan. There is also a Lawson close-by. On weekdays especially the hotel is an active construction site inside and out. It probably isn't what the workers want, to have to share a construction site with guests. It...
