"I enjoyed the stay quite a bit, though I might disagree with the choice of some of the art. Every time I left or arrived to my room, it was with the image of a middle finger directed at me. Yes, art interpretation is in the eye of the beholder, but my interpretation left me with an unsavory impact. This is not how I would want to be remembered by a future repeat customer. However, there is much to commend here. The room was clean and maintained . Very quiet given the room overlooked a main traffic street that was very busy. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful with providing information. The kitchen staff was friendly and efficient, and though the breakfast bar was somewhat smaller than others, we were able to order delicious and fresh eggs and sausages with vegetables as well. Even though the housekeeping staff interaction was limited, their friendly faces and greetings were a nice part of the day. The uber pick drop off and pickup are only a few feet from the front door, and the Bahnhof is about 10-12 minutes away. Shopping is very convenient. The beauty and sites of Salzburg are as close as 100 yards to a mile walking distance and easy/relatively flat at a moderate to brisk pace if you are a moderately fit senior citizen. For those with mobility issues, definitely take the funicular to the fortress. Yes, I could stay here again without regret."

"We had a great time staying at Krone 1512. It was a great location in the center of the shipping area. The room was great for 2 of us. We had a room that the window opened onto the shopping street- that was super fun to open and take in the sight. The hotel also offers free tea and coffee in the main dining area anytime of day. So you don’t have tea or coffee available in the room. This shopping area is not the old town that has Mozarts home and the castle- that’s a 10-15 minute walk. Which is totally doable. The parking was a bit of a walk from the hotel so just a heads up if you have lots of luggage. A restaurant suggestion we loved- Superstanza (italian) 4 minutes from the hotel."

Leonardo Boutique Hotel Salzburg Gablerbräu

"Our stay at the Leonardo Boutique was very nice. The staff messaged in advance to let us know that there was a lot of construction around the city. At my request, they sent a map with the directions mapped out on it. It is in the old town with bollards preventing cars from entering at certain times of the day. You must call them when you arrive for a code to lower the bollard. This allows unloading right at the door. Parking is a 5 to 10 min walk away. There is a free pass for city transportation during your stay. Reception was not a smiling welcome, but they were very businesslike and got us checked in quickly and printed off transportation passes for us as soon as they were able. They also gave some nice suggestions for restaurants in the area. The rooms were immaculate and the bathroom was a nice size with a larger shower. Our room was on the stuffy side and the air conditioning and fan did not seem to help with the stuffiness. We opened the window most evenings for some cool air. We did have a visit by a couple of bees one morning but other than that the open window solved the stuffy room. Breakfast was good with a wide variety to choose from but is not included with your dtay. Would definitely consider staying there again."
