"We loved our stay (August 2025) at the Royal And Imperial Belvedere hotel. Our room was great, newly decorated and spotlessly clean. The main dining area is really big and being able to sit outside meant you didn't feel like you were going to the same restaurant for every meal! Lots of fresh food options, the grill and the salad bars were excellent. The causal dining options were also great with a range of family friendly food available. Having a separate bar area from the entertainment means you can choose a more peaceful spot in the evening, or get involved in the fun. The pools are fab - a 50 metre pool on holiday! Even when it was busy it didn't feel busy. Plenty of sunbeds available around the pools or on the peaceful sun terrace. Theres not a lot to walk to nearby and the local beaches are taken up by sunbeds from the bars, but we'd recommend a walk into Koutouloufari for a look round the shops or a drink in the evening."

"Stayed as a family of 4 for 9 days in mid August 2025, 2 adults and 2 children. Positives: Remote hill top location in Old Town Malia (10/10). Villas with private 10m to 15m length pools (10/10). Overall the teams were very helpful and did their best to support. Amazing views of Malia from your balcony from the hill top location (10/10). Notable mentions; Alexia at the front desk, New lady in the restaurant from Romania, Male supervisor / manager who helped us after we got locked out of the villa with 2 keys at night. Private pool chemical level being checked. Met the new owner at dinner whilst the teams were stressfully trying to work out our bill for a new menu and he said he his aware of what they need to improve on and service is not were he wants it to be. Negatives: Attention to detail I.e. 1 bed was missing its top cover for the first 3 nights. Very easy to lock yourself out of the villa because of the safety feature on the doors. Service in the restaurant needs to be improved / missed opportunity from the hotel due to isolated location. Catering options are very limited / Menu cards are confusing / Not clear what you have ordered and what you are paying for. Nightly disturbances from staffing quarters into the early morning (stayed in villa 407). No locks on the bathroom or toilet doors. Hot water in the tap & shower is extremely boiling hot. Toilet / Shower room on the lower floor in the 2 bedroom villas should have a solid divider as water gets everywhere."

"It was perfect for us for an extended stay but it may not be suitable for other people as there is no pool and you must carry your own luggage through a flight of stairs . Beach is only a few minutes away so location wise it worked well as there is a safe underground passage way to cross the busy national road safely. The bed was comfortable and the view was great. Room service every 2 days and the staff is friendly and helpful. We also loved their three dogs and we are dog lovers si think about this if you are not into dogs. We loved our time as we stated but we remain aware this set up might not be for everyone say with higher standards in mind. "
