Great property, fantastic. Only thing that could be improved is clearing the tables and no evening meal. Went to local pub - Joiners Arms - prices in the menu did not reflect the bill. Also avoid the ravioli, it was terrible. Service was good and the manager dealt with it quickly and promptly.
The room was lovely and quirky, with some nice touches.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Area has limited dining options, mostly the pub down the road and if you don’t book it’s hard to find an alternative without driving.
No coffee shops or cafes for breakfast.
Also wasn’t made aware that this is a wedding venue, which meant you had limited access to the main hall and the bar etc.
Lovely setting and convenient for what I wanted to do. Information on Expedia website could have been fuller regarding meal options.
Wildflower planying around property particularly impressive.
The bathroom just floods and obviously this level of damp just makes the whole room smell damp. Smells of sweat to be honest. Wasn't enjoyable. Was only one cup for cup of tea but x2 staying... just small things let it down.
We weren’t in the room we booked. We were told there was no bar on site, there was. The electricity went off through the whole of the village so there was nowhere to get food or drink. No provisions were offered and we were unable to book anything to our room. I’m not sure how the rest of the guest faired who were stopping in the main hall itself. For the cost of the room I would have thought out of curtesy we would have been offered soft drinks or something from the on site kitchen that didn’t require cooking. I'm aware the Hall is mainly used for weddings but as no wedding was on, on the Sunday I would assume that services would have been offered as paying guests. It would also be a curtesy to inform guests who are booking spare rooms not part of a wedding party that there are events happening, it was rather noisy. Overall it’s a beautiful place and setting with fantastic access the beaches but we did feel let down by the issues above.
