Nice Hotel. The Room was big enough. The Hotel Staff helped us. The best Youth Hostel I ever had. The Building is lovingly restored. A seperate room for table tennis and billard and football scooter. Breakfast room was very nice with a nice view.

Room 2, very noisy, right next to a bus stop. Noisey door just outside our room going into the kitchen. Very friendly staff, great games room.

Great location to explore Alnwick Castle,Alnmouth and further (we made a train day trip to Durham from here). Friendly ans helpful staff and good facilities like the games room, lounge, kitchen and dining room. Would definitely recommend.

Small family room, but good shared facilities

Great location in Alnwick, easy walk to the castle. Overall the hostel was in good condition with good shared facilities. The room was a bit small for a family with luggage.

Well run and friendly

My first hostel stay in 30 years - this time with family in tow - and it was wonderful. AYH is clean and clearly well run, and the staff were absolutely fantastic and friendly - and went out of their way to accommodate our requests (luggage storage, late breakfast order, random questions). We had a lovely time exploring Alnwick, visiting the castle, spending time in pubs and at Barter Books.

Stayed many times before

Always a pleasure to stay in the hostel as it’s friendly to disabled and lgbt people I’m both . Kristen welcomed me back again who helps to run the hostel. Only niggle is the late check in time but the room 10 was massive and quiet in the former courthouse and police station where the hostel is now situated. Only minutes walk from Alnwick castle and the shops and restaurants and pubs .

I was early to the check in time but they let me leave my bag in a storage room so i could go exploring without lugging it around. Also they helped me figure out the sunday bus schedule so i could see bamburgh castle. Loved how helpful they were!

Awesome. Two thumbs up!

We stayed as a family in a four bed (two bunkbeds) room. It was an amazing say. Great staff, awesome kitchen, and really really clean. You can tell they take pride in this facility. Walking distance to everywhere including the castle. Let us leave our baggage in the luggage room before and after our stay.

Up for family gathering, one night stop.Friendly helpful reception. Arrived back late at night and couldn't tell which bed was made up. Would help to have a bright tag to identify it in the dark. All else good.

Shame about unruly posh children as this is a lovely hostel where I’ve stayed many times before . Running up and down the corridor all night these posh brats and their parents who couldn’t give a damn about the comfort and wellbeing of other people staying at the property

Value for money

Allereerst was ik huiverig om een hostel te boeken als gezin. Maar dit is een uitstekend hostel. Het is schoon genoeg en we hebben prima geslapen in een familiekamer. De prijsverhouding is prima. Aan de buitenkant denk je misschien waar komen we terecht, maar het is prima. Nog een pluspunt met een hotel is dat de kidneren er kunnen spelen; pingpong, poolen en tafelvoetbal. Zeer centrale ligging. Uit eten of naar de supermarkt kan allebei. Kortom: kinderen blij, wij blij.

Buen sitio, para repetir.

Habitacion cuadruple con 2 literas. Todo limpio y sencillo. Maravillosa la atencion del personal, asi como la sala de juegos y la cocina, para preparar tu propio desayuno, si no solicitas el del hotel.

Alnwick Youth Hostel

Friendly welcome from helpful reception staff. Lots of notices around the hostel regarding Covid safety measures. Also lots of hand sanitiser dispensers throughout the accommodation, including a bottle in the dorm and another bottle in the en suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable with a really snug duvet. The dorm (and the bathroom) was spacious, with plenty of hangers and hooks for hanging from. One suggestion for improvement may be to install more sockets (or alternative USB charging points) in the rooms - in these days, everybody has one or more devices that needs to be charged! However, nothing to complain about really - the hostel is a great place to stay in central Alnwick, with all of the amenities of the town close by.

Alnwick Youth Hostel

We stayed one night. The family room with large en suite bathroom was big enough for the four of us, was warm, comfortable and clean. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. We had breakfast which was good for the price. As Youth Hostels go, this is one of the better ones I’ve stayed in. Alnwick itself is a delightful town.
