Perfect Getaway
We rented the house as a surprise to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We had 2 families with teens and young adults and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house is better than advertised and Charlene's extra effort and personal touches made the weekend so memorable. We will definitely be returning!

Perfect!
Another wonderful family vacation at this property! The home is spacious, comfortable and inviting. The hosts go above and beyond in every way. We enjoyed the large yard, two docks and many amenities. We will definitely be back!

Perfect get away
This is by far the best property we’ve stayed in. This was our second visit and we love it! The property is amazing and the hosts are so nice and available if you need anything. They’ve thought of all the amenities and we can’t wait to go back!

Amazing trip again!
This is the second time to stay at this home. It’s beautiful and the owners are wonderful! They really pay attention to every detail and want you to have an amazing stay. The house has great amenities and we couldn’t ask for more. We’ve already booked our trip for next year!

Spacious and comfortable
So many beds! If you need a place for a large family/multi-family trip this house is for you. If you rent the extra bunk room in the basement everyone can have a choice of a bed and 3 different tv seating areas throughout the house. Just as many seating choices outside with all the decks and docks. Plenty of room in the kitchen and dining area too. The house was clean and well decorated. Convenient washer/dryer and 3 car garage. It was easy to feel at home during our stay at the lake!

Relaxing Lakeview Retreat

Such a special place!

This property exceeded all of our expectations! The setting is the best on Lake Wabaunsee and was perfect for our family. The hosts have thought of every little detail and were so easy to communicate with. This is such a lovely home and emulated that atmosphere. We are grateful to these hosts for sharing this special place. Lake Wabaunsee is also a wonderful gem of Kansas.

Beautiful Lakehouse!
My family and I traveled to Kansas for my Grandson's high school and college graduations. We stayed at Charlene's beautiful lake house! We loved all the personal touches! She had a welcome scroll with all the last names of the families that were with us. There was also a map of the US with little strips of paper with the towns of our state of where we were coming from. The coffee and smores bars were wonderful! It has everything you need! Charlene was super easy to communicate with and very attentive to our needs. I could go on and on but book this lake house for yourselves and see for yourselves how wonderful it is! Thank you Charlene for making our trip so amazing!

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at Lakeview Retreat. It EXCEEDED expectations!
Lakeview Retreat is a cozy and very well appointed property that exceeded the expectations of our extended family. There was plenty of room to spend time together. The surrounding Flint Hills are beautiful. We enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving weekend this time and we hope to rent again during the summer when we can use the lake and beautiful deck.

Perfect Lake Get-Away!
Our family weekend was fabulous with this spacious, inviting & well-stocked home! We could relax together or spread out - in the lake, out for a walk or bike ride or just curled up in the window seat! The long kitchen table was great for family meals flavored with love & laughter! We'll be back! And only 2 hrs from Wichita or Kansas City!

Wonderful family vacation!
This property was perfect for our family vacation! The home was inviting and comfortable with plenty of space. Kitchen was well-stocked and every room was super clean. We were blessed with perfect weather all week, so the kayaks, lily pad and diving board were big hits! The children also enjoyed the rope swing near the dam. Fishing was fantastic! If time permits, a trip to the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan is so worth it. Everything was great, the hosts are amazing and we look forward to going back next year!

Beautiful Lakehouse
This was our first time renting a vacation property. We didn’t know what to expect but we’re blown away when we got to Lakeview Retreat! It’s a truly beautiful place and the pictures of this listing don’t do it justice! The house was very spacious and comfortable! We had everything we needed! The kids loved swimming and jumping off the diving board! The docks are mark to easily tell which ones go with the rental! This is our 2nd year of many, The owner is quick to answer a text, besides being very nice. We had such a wonderful time. Fishing was so fun and we had 2 docks so plenty of room. The house is a dream.

Highly recommend - relaxing getaway
This is a great house in a perfect location to unplug and relax. Even in mid-March, this was a fantastic getaway; kayaking, s’mores, hammock, and just relaxing. Would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the swimming and fishing. But even in the early spring, the house has a lot to offer. Room to spread out, a nice kitchen, awesome deck and fire pit, great views, quiet and friendly neighbors, a great outdoor view, and direct access via two docks to a very nice lake. Owners are very responsive and helpful, and the house has a lot of personal touches that make it feel even more cozy and inviting. You can’t go wrong with this house if you are looking to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.

Perfect Lake House
This place is perfect for a family trip. We stayed at the property for our annual Thanksgiving getaway, and by far, this has been the most ideal location so far. The owners have thought of everything. My family loves to cook, so we usually struggle with not having the proper utensils or cooking area, but this house has everything. The kitchen space is fantastic, and the seating allowed us all to sit together and really enjoy each other. They have thought of all the small details you need to be comfortable, including games for the kids and plenty of space for you to relax. There were plenty of towels, blankets, and amenities to make our t stay perfect. And the decore around the house was full of so many tiny details and inspirational thoughts that kept us smiling all day! Now let's get to the delicious part. We fished all day!! My husband and I love to fish, and although we do not like the cold, it was worth hanging out at the dock because we caught almost 300 fish, and one night we even kept some of the fish and had a fish fry. This made our trip absolutely perfect. Finally, the owners were kind and considerate and were always available to answer questions. We left some things at the house, and they were very accommodating to help get our items back to us. I can't say enough about how kind my interactions were with them. Thank you again, and my family is already talking about booking the space again!

Late summer visit.
Great time with family! Lots of room and the docks were great to watch sunrises. We kayaked and the guys used the tree swing by the dam. Went for walks and cooked and had fires at the fire pit. The home was decorated wonderfully and had everything we needed! The host was always quick to cheerfully respond to any questions! Thanks for a great stay!

Our favorite lake house yet!
The lake view retreat has everything you could need and more! The house was so welcoming, from cookies to firewood. The 2 docks were great fishing and swimming and the Lilly pad which was a huge bonus for our kids. Charlene was fantastic as well, we will are already looking to book our next stay!

Lake luxury!
The property was exactly as described, plus so many little touches that made the house feel inviting and made our stay wonderful. The house is great for all ages and includes plenty of space to spread out. The yard was wonderful for lawn games and campfires, and the lake was wonderful for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this spot for a family get together or a more private getaway.

Wonderful, relaxing stay
This home is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a long weekend getaway for our family. The owners really go all out with special features, like the coffee bar and s’mores bar. They even left fresh baked cookies for our arrival! The view is beautiful and the kids had a blast swimming and fishing off the docks. Lots of great memories! We can’t wait to book another trip!

Great Girl's Weekend location!
We loved our stay at Lake Waubaunsee! The house was beautiful, comfortable and a great location on the lake. The kitchen was stocked with all the equipment needed. We also loved the local golf course and found the whole lake community very friendly. We've been getting together every summer for almost 30 years and this was definitely a favorite location!

Amazing Lake Get-A-Way!
