Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Alliston?
The best area to stay in Alliston, Prince Edward Island, is the town centre, particularly along Main Street and its immediate surroundings.

This area is the heart of Alliston, offering a convenient base for exploring. Main Street is lined with local shops, eateries, and a few historic buildings. It's a walkable area, making it easy to access local amenities and enjoy the town's welcoming atmosphere.

For couples looking for a relaxed getaway, staying in the town centre provides easy access to local dining and the waterfront. You can enjoy strolls along the harbour, take in the views of the Northumberland Strait, and explore the small boutiques. The area's proximity to the marina also allows for convenient access to boat tours or fishing excursions.

Families will also find the town centre suitable due to its central location and access to amenities. There are often local parks and green spaces nearby for children, and the ease of walking to shops for snacks or meals adds to the convenience.
When is the best time to go to Alliston?
The best time to visit Alliston, Prince Edward Island, is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its finest for outdoor activities and exploring the island.

During this period, the days are long and sunny, with average temperatures hovering around 20-25°C, making it great for enjoying the beaches, cycling the Confederation Trail, or exploring the charming towns nearby. Alliston itself is a quieter, more residential area, but it provides a convenient and pleasant base for exploring the island's many attractions, which are in full swing during this season.

For those who enjoy a slightly cooler climate and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of late May to early June and September to early October also offer a lovely experience. While some services might have reduced hours, the scenery is still beautiful, especially in autumn when the foliage changes colour.
