Peaceful sound's of nature!!right outside the east gate of Algonquin park .
10/10 Excellent
"We've been coming to Algonquin every November, for over 20 years, to celebrate my wife's birthday. We always spend a lot of time in the east end of the park, so this year we decided to look for a place to stay in Whitney. This property looked absolutely perfect for what we needed (and more)!Lots to places to sleep and super comfortable beds. A large kitchen with everything you need for making meals. A very cozy living room space for relaxing after a day of hiking the trails! And the most important part of all...a nice, big wood stove with plenty of wood in the wood shed! This place was absolutely perfect in every way and I know we'll be back again next year (and for many years to come); it quickly became our family's favorite place to stay when coming up to the park! The hosts were amazing, even going that extra step and putting out birthday decorations, and a bottle of wine, for when we arrived. Communication was awesome from start to finish, ensuring we had everything we needed to make the most of our time there (including a park pass)! We had an amazing time staying here and we will definitely be back again next year!"
"Had an amazing time in our dome for the weekend. What a unique property! Loved the setting and the short drive to Algonquin Park. Communication with the host was fantastic and prompt. I will definitely be back when the resort is open again next season. Our stay exceeded our expectations "
Whitney cabin located on the Madawaska river just outside of Algonquin park
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful rustic cabin that faces Madawaska River. Brad (also met his mom) are lovely hosts.Cabin is in the yard (I think) of Brad's family cabin. He told me he'd be on the property the day we checked in. His family did some maintenance but they left the following day. It's very private, which we love.Cabin itself is very well-equipped. Different sizes of frying, soup and sauce pans. Different cooking utensils. Even paper filters for the coffee machine. There's also steak knives, pitchers, shot glasses, wine glasses, mixing bowls, extra toilet paper, paper towels, hand towels and kitchen towels. Can't emphasize enough how well-stocked the kitchen is.No AC but you don't need it. If you open all the windows during the day, a nice breeze comes through the cabin. At night, the temperature really drops so, come prepared with extra blankets. Definitely bring your canoe, kayak or paddle board, and your swim gear. The river is just gorgeous. Geese like to hang out on the property. There's a lot of droppings everywhere, including on the rock stairs leading into the swimming area. But we're experienced campers and nature doesn't really bother us. Dock area is amazing. It's nice to just sit out there with a coffee. Lots of indoor and outdoor chairs available for a large family like ours.Old railroad parralel to roadway gets some foot traffic and the occasional ATV or dirt bike. But you're facing the river, not the road.Use Vrbo coordinates, not address to find the cabin. "
