Great view, plenty of space and quiet neighbourhood. Easy access to Albany centre and attractions. A charming property with a variety of different spaces and eclectic mixture of furniture and fittings. Wonderful kitchen with harbour view. Great for our short stay.
There are many charming and quirky features at this property making it an unusual and interesting stay. Linen and towels were provided and clean. Milk was in the fridge and the property was overall comfortable and well equipped. Some of the beds could have been more comfortable, a couple were very old frames and mattresses. The property isn't the most secure but the neighbourhood seemed nice. Communication with the host was easy and quick.
This grand old house is positioned on a hill with fabulous views of the inlet and walking distance from the centre of town. The facilities are a bit tired, but the house overall is very comfortable.
House is centrally located and charming. Parking was a little tricky due to the steep incline. Really appreciated the heritage of the property but could have had more modern conveniences although the kids loved the idea there might be a ghost or two hanging around. Overall everyone had a great time and really enjoyed being in the heart of the city with views to die for.
Great location, fantastic views from the deck. Only down side was the barbecue & utensils were not cleaned from the previous guests. Bathroom downstairs has a bath/ shower, a handrail would have been great for getting in & out, especially if you have an older group staying. Would recommend the property.
Great location, walking distance to everything, highly recommend Somerset house to those who want to experience something a little different and homely
Stunning in every way! The location, the views, the house was large and spacious with tons of character.
We all had a own areas to chill out or large meeting rooms ie the dining sat up to 12 and the lounge was spacious too.
The kitchen was to die for and the large verandas with views over the hills town and harbour. everything was spoton
Location is amazing with equally wonderous views of the bay.
Check in and communication were easy too.
House is filled with antiques.
Not really our cup of tea though. Odd smell here and there was noted too. I developed asthma too (often this is from dust). Floor also was quite sticky in a few places.
Bathroom had an ant problem too.
No wifi :(.
But some may enjoy this property with its heritage features
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Somerset house. It has a beautiful view over the town and harbour with only a short walk to town. The house is very well equipped and comfortable. We especially loved the old Meters stove in the kitchen! Highly recommended for a large family.
This house was in a great location. It had great views over the bay, it was also located within walking distance to cafes, pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here with a group of friends or a couple of families.
Great location base for our large family visiting for our daughter’s wedding. Large rooms, great beds, very well stocked kitchen. Steep stairs if accessibility is an issue
Great location in walking distance of several pubs and restaurants. House has numerous areas for individuals to relax on their own or as part of the group. Dining table excellent for group celebrations and conversation. Highly recommended!!
Our group had the most amazing stay at Somerset house. For ten adults it was just perfect. The whole experience was amazing. The period setting of the house is perfect and the little touches of supplies was very much appreciated especially after a long drive from Perth.
