"As with most hotels, when they see you booked with a third party, they stick you in the furtherest room away from the front desk, highest floor, end of the hall. The suite was less space than what the internet indicated, although there were no pictures of the seating area anywhere on the net. The separate tv room had 2 older style chairs that were less than comfortable. I asked if I could pay for an upgrade to a room with at least a couch, they said since we booked on Expedia, they could not upgrade us, even if we paid. The property was very nice, but is showing signs of wear and tear. Hotel staff was nice but not willing to facilitate any upgrade. The breakfast was descent. Overall. Our stay would have probably been better with a nicer room."

"I stayed at Stoney Creek in Des Moines & it was a fantastic experience a few years ago. I was expecting same experience but it was not… the pool was very dirty, scum all around, no towels on Thursday or Friday. The hot tub was broken, I asked how long it had been broken & I was told 4 years… the bar was not open on Thursday night.The breakfast was not good. The one thing that was positive was they had a few options of flavored coffee creamers. We will not be staying at this location again. I think the new standard we will need to call what amenities are actually in service. "

"We had to switch rooms because the air conditioner stopped working. The next room did not have a microwave. The clerk brought one and had to sit it on our table. There was a huge amount of white powdery substance on the bathtub and door handle. The bed was hard as a rock."

"This Inn is cute and centrally located. The rooms are clean, the bedroom and bathroom are large. Traffic noise begins at 6:00am. The breakfast is sparse, cold cereal and fruit. There was not enough milk in the fridge for the cereal, the fruit was old and shriveled. It was nice to stay on the square, but we won’t return."
